Volleyball Earns AVCA Academic Award for 25th Time

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri Volleyball received the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced on Thursday morning.
The award marked the 25th time the team has earned it including the 18th straight for the highest honor the team can earn in the classroom.
The Redhawks also secured an additional distinction of AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll which landed the program in the top 20-percent of GPAs nationally in Division I women's volleyball. This is the second consecutive season that the team has earned this additional honor.

The association's mission is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The membership includes more than 10,000 collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches—primarily in the United States. The AVCA represents women's volleyball, men's volleyball, and beach volleyball coaches, and works to increase exposure and recognition for the sport of volleyball
