Softball Announces 2024 Schedule

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The reigning Ohio Valley Conference regular-season champion Southeast Missouri softball team will play 52 games, including 18 at home this upcoming 2024 season.

SEMO has its first 19 games spread across four tournaments outside of Cape Girardeau. Eight of those matchups will be against Power Five teams, including Ohio State (Big Ten, Feb. 10), Maryland (Big Ten, Feb. 16 & Feb. 18), Syracuse (ACC, Feb. 17), Auburn (SEC, Feb. 23 & Feb. 25) and Arkansas (SEC, Mar. 1 & Mar. 3).

The Redhawks open their 48th softball season with five games at the Florida International Tournament in Miami Feb. 9-11. SEMO faces Stony Brook (Feb. 9), host FIU (Feb. 9) and Ohio State to kick things off in the event.

A week later, SEMO heads to the bayou for the Southeastern Louisiana Tournament where it will square off against Maryland twice, Syracuse and Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 17).

Tournament play concludes the next two weeks with back-to-back trips to SEC schools.

The Redhawks play Auburn, Northern Iowa (Feb. 23 & Feb. 24) and Longwood (Feb. 24) during Auburn's three-day event. Then, SEMO goes to Arkansas for the Woo Pig Classic, where it will take on South Dakota State (Mar. 1 & Mar. 2), Florida Atlantic (Mar. 2) and the host Razorbacks.

SEMO begins its 27-game OVC slate with a three-game home series against reigning OVC Tournament champion Eastern Illinois (Mar. 9-10). The Panthers represented the league at the NCAA Tournament a year ago.

Tennessee State (Mar. 23-24), Tennessee Tech (Apr. 6-7), Lindenwood (Apr. 20-21) and first-year OVC member Western Illinois (Apr. 27-28) also visit the Southeast Softball Complex in 2024. SEMO, which went undefeated in Cape Girardeau the last two years, is on a 30-game home winning streak.

The Redhawks make trips to SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 16-17), Southern Indiana (Apr. 29-30), Morehead State (Apr. 13-14) and UT Martin (Mar. 4-5) during their road portion of league action.

SEMO also has home matchups with Bradley (Mar. 12) and Saint Louis (Apr. 10), and road games at Missouri (Apr 3) and Murray State (Apr. 23) during midweek play this season.

In 2024, the eight-team OVC Softball Tournament moves to Peoria, Illinois for the first time. The event is scheduled for May 8-11 at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex. This year marks the league's 30th Softball Championship all-time.
