Redhawks Hit the Road to Continue Conference Play Thursday at Lindenwood
Southeast Missouri (4-3-2, 0-1-1 OVC) will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 28, when they travel a few miles north to take on Lindenwood (2-7-1, 0-2-0 OVC) to continue Ohio Valley Conference play. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m., CT. at Hunter Stadium.Â

Series History
The Redhawks and Lions will meet for the fourth time and just the third time as conference foes on Thursday night. The last meeting came in the Ohio Valley Conference quarterfinals at Houck Field on Oct. 30, 2022, in a match that went to a penalty shootout.Â

Lindenwood won the match in the penalty kicks and advance to the next round of the conference tournament.Â

Overall, SEMO maintains a 1-0-2 advantage over their in-state rival.Â

The Redhawks outshot the panthers by a 15-3 margin but were unable to find the back of the net. EIU's goalkeeper Ella Kratochivil finished the game with seven saves over SEMO's 15 shots as EIU would go on to win 2-0.Â

Two second half EIU goals propelled the Panthers to their first OVC win and their first positive result on the early conference campaign.Â

SEMO continued to ask questions throughout the second half continued. Midfielder
Zoe Houston had the best look of the half from just outside the box in the 50th minute.Â

Houston's shot curled just past the left post and went behind for a goal kick.Â

Cayla Koerner finished with two shots, including three on goal between the three of them, as SEMO was shutout for the second match in a row.Â

The first EIU goal came from a Redhawks penalty inside the Panthers' box. Goalkeeper
Sophia Elfrink was hurt on the play and was removed from the game prior to the penalty kick attempt.Â

Madison Geisler to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.Â

The Redhawks were unable to register a shot before the next Panthers goal, 12-minutes later, as EIU would hold on for the 2-0 victory.

Scouting Lindenwood
Lindenwood is coming off a 1-0 loss against SIUE. Lindenwood is in tenth place in the OVC Standings and has dropped the last five games.

Against SIUE, seniors Mia Corrigan and Karleigh Daniels were the only ones to register a shot. Corrigan and Daniels both had one shot on goal.

Erika Anstine, the Lions goalkeeper recorded seven saves on the night. Anstine has 54 saves on the year which is tied for first in the conference.Â

Freshman forward Anna Johnson Leads the team in shots with 13 on the season. Johnson also has scored two goals with four shots on goal (0.308 SOG%), and one assist.

Maggie Weller also has two goals on the season with four SOG. Weller is second on the team with 12 shots.Â
