Redhawks Erupt For 14 Runs Saturday, Improve to 7-2 in OVC Play

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Southeast Missouri (18-16, 7-2 OVC) picked up their third-straight conference series win on Saturday afternoon with a 14-2 rout of Southern Indiana (9-22, 2-7 OVC).

The Redhawks offense stayed hot at the plate, pounding out 13 hits in the contest, led by Jevon Mason and Lincoln Andrews with three hits apiece.

Andrews was 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs on the afternoon, tying his season high. Mason plated two and scored two runs in his own 3-for-5 day.

Lincoln Andrews got the Redhawks on the board in the first inning for the third-straight game with an RBI single through the right side to plate Mason.

USI would tie the game in the second with a solo home run, but from then on it was all Redhawks as a Chance Reestich RBI triple to right center score Mason once again.

An RBI infield single by Josh Cameron, and a two-run home run to right field by Andrews quickly regained the SEMO lead to 5-1.

USI scored their second and final run of the game with an RBI single by Ren Tachioka in the third inning.

A two run fourth, five run fifth, and a two run seventh put the Redhawks up by 12 to finish the game in seven innings.

LHP Haden Dow got the win in the contest. The lefty went five complete innings on 72 pitches. He allowed just four hits and an earned run, striking out four.

Chance Resetich and Josh Cameron finished 2-for-2 on the day with a pair of RBIs each.

The Redhawks will be on the road for midweek action against rival Southern Illinois on Tuesday, April 11. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m., CT. in Carbondale, Ill.
