CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri women's basketball added 5' 9" guard Megan Barton, a transfer from Bradley University, on Thursday.
The daughter of Madlynn Walker and Don Barton spent the 2022-23 season at Missouri Valley Conference-member Bradley University, where she transferred to after two seasons at Rend Lake Community College.
She averaged 13.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game at Rend Lake where she was selected to the all-conference team, before the 2022-23 season at Bradley.
Barton graduated from Rend Lake Community College in 2020.
A super athletic guard with a great mid-range, Barton played in 14 games last season for the Braves.
The Carterville, Ill.-native graduated from Carterville High School in 2020 where she lettered in both basketball and track.
An all-conference selection all four years under head coach Matt Crain, Barton led her team to a third-place IHSA tournament finish.
During her time at Carterville, Barton played one season with current Redhawks guard
Alecia Doyle.
Barton also placed sixth in the IHSA state track championships in the women's high jump.
She will major in Psychology at Southeast Missouri with plans on becoming a radiologist in the future.
In her free time, Barton loves the outdoors, watching anime, and playing video games.
Megan Barton will join the Redhawks women's basketball program for the 2023-24 season.
