Ole Miss Classic Recap
Southeast Missouri ended its regular- season tournament play with a 3-2 record at the Ole Miss Classic (Mar. 3-5). SEMO beat Mount St. Mary's twice before knocking off SEC member Ole Miss to close out the tournament. Each of SEMO's final three games of the tournament were 1-0 contests.
Great Win for the Program
With its 1-0 win over Ole Miss (Mar. 5), Southeast Missouri picked up its 14th win against a SEC foe in program history. It marked the third time in the last six years where SEMO has upended a SEC team under Head Coach Mark Redburn. The Redhawks are now 14-70 all-time against SEC schools.
Series History
SIU Edwardsville holds a 42-29 lead in the all-time series between these teams. SIUE swept Southeast Missouri in its regular-season series at Edwardsville a year ago. The Redhawks later beat the Cougars, 9-1, in five innings during the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
OVC Openers
The Redhawks are 20-10 in Ohio Valley Conference openers. Southeast Missouri started league action with a win in nine of the last 12 seasons. SIUE was picked sixth in this year's OVC Preseason Poll.
Redhawks Heating Up
After starting the 2023 season at 0-3, Southeast Missouri has gone 7-3 in its last 10 contests to move to 7-6 this year. SEMO heads into its Ohio Valley Conference opening weekend fresh off a big 1-0 road win at SEC member Ole Miss (Mar. 5).
Multiple Shutouts
Southeast Missouri picked up a pair of shutout victories at the Ole Miss Classic. SEMO beat both Mount St. Mary's (Mar. 4) and Ole Miss (Mar. 5) by 1-0 scores. Those are the two shutouts through the Redhawks 13 games this season.
Kell Tosses Gem

Ole Miss had only three runners in scoring position against Davis and Kell. Davis threw four strong innings with three strikeouts and three hits allowed to get her second win of the season, while Kell pitched the final three shutout innings with one hit allowed and one strikeout to earn the save.
