OXFORD, Miss. –
Marisa Davis and
Delaney Kell combined on a four-hit shutout to lead Southeast Missouri (7-6) to a 1-0 victory over Southeastern Conference member Ole Miss Sunday.
SEMO concluded the Ole Miss Classic with a 3-2 record and posted its 14
th win over a SEC foe in program history.
Ole Miss had only three runners in scoring position against Davis and Kell during their four-hit masterpiece.
Davis threw four strong innings with three strikeouts and three hits allowed to get her second win of the season, while Kell pitched the final three shutout innings with one hit allowed and one strikeout to earn the save.
Offensively, SEMO scored the only run in the game in the top of the first inning.
Paige Halliwill reached on a fielder's choice and
Alyson Tucker drew a one-out walk.
Aubrie Shore followed with an infield single and Halliwill scored her team-high eight run of the season.
SEMO's final three games of the Ole Miss Classic were 1-0 contests.
Ole Miss was led by Natalie Ray who finished with two hits.
Makenna Kliethermes (4-3) suffered the loss in the circle. Klithermes scattered four hits, allowed a run, walked two and struck out four in six innings.
The Redhawks open Ohio Valley Conference play with a three-game home series vs. SIU Edwardsville Mar. 11-12.
