Another Win for the Redhawks Who Open OVC Play with 7-0 Shutout Over Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Southeast Missouri (10-2, 1-0) became the second Ohio Valley Conference team to get 10 wins this season when it dominated Lindenwood (1-4, 0-1), 7-0, in its league-opener Wednesday.

SEMO and LU were initially supposed to play on Mar. 19, but the start of conference play for both teams began today.

The Redhawks, now on a nine-match winning streak, again put together an impressive performance. SEMO finished off its sixth shutout of the season and fifth in its previous six matchups.

SEMO did not lose a set and won in straight sets in each of the top five singles positions. Daniela Hlacikova (No. 1), Romana Tarajova (No. 2), Ksenia Shikanova (No. 3), Vivian Lai (No. 4) and Trinity Calinescu (No. 5) were all victorious. Hlacikova increased her record to 10-2, while Shikanova picked up her ninth win in singles play this spring. The Redhawks won in the No. 6 spot by default.

In doubles action, it was Tarajova and Shikanova who won at the top of SEMO's doubles lineup. Meanwhile, Hlacikova and Velkoska prevailed behind them at No. 2. The Redhawks won the No. 3 position by default.

The Redhawks are back in action at SIU Edwardsville on Mar. 25.
