NASHHVILLE - Southeast Missouri (8-2) edged former Ohio Valley Conference member Belmont (3-10), 4-3, in a close matchup Saturday.

SEMO ran its winning streak to seven matches with the victory.

After losing the double point, SEMO rallied to win each of its last four singles matches to secure its eight victory of the season.

Daniela Hlacikova saw her eight-match singles winning streak end with a tight three-set loss to Marila Hlahola, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, at the top of the lineup. After that, Romana Tarajova fell to Abi Solomon, also in three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 4-6 in the No. 2 spot.

After that, the Redhawks did not lose again and did enough to get by the Bruins.

Ksenia Shikanova defeated A. Zholdakova, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, before Vivian Lai, Trinity Calinescu and Teona Velkoska recorded straight-set wins.

Lai took down Viktoria Kliimand, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 4, Calinescu beat Taylor Trondson, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5 and Velkoska upended Meredith Roberts, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 6 to take the match.

Calinescu and Lai won in No. 3 doubles after BU was victorious at both No. 1 and No. 2.
