PEKIN, Ill. - Southeast Missouri (4-2) won in four of the six singles positions and swept the doubles point in a 5-2 win over Missouri Valley Conference member Bradley (3-5) Friday at the Parkside Fitness Center.
SEMO won its third-straight match and defeated BU for the fifth-consecutive time in the all-time series between the teams.
In doubles action,
Romana Tarajova and
Ksenia Shikanova posted a 7-6 win over Madalena Andrade and Kristin Hailey at No. 1.
Daniela Hlacikova and
Teona Velkoska took care of Maria Bezmenova and Anna Belogliadova, 6-3, in No. 2 and
Vivian Lai and Trinity Calinescu beat Madi Rogers and Alexandra Hildreth, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot.
Hlacikova remained hot winning her fifth-straight singles match. Playing at the top of the lineup for third time this spring, she won, 6-3, 6-1, over Belogliadova in straight sets. Shikanova captured a 6-2, 7-6, win over Hailey at No. 3, while Calinescu and Velkoska posted the other two singles wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively. Calinescu upended Andrade in a three-set tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, and Velkoska defeated Hildreth, 6-2, 6-3.Â
Additionally,
Mary Beth Gunn earned her 70th career win as SEMO's head coach.
SEMOÂ concludes its two-match weekend in the Land of Lincoln with a mathchup at Illinois-Springfield Saturday.
