CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri's women's tennis program signed three players Monday. Juliette Demunck, Ewa Czapulak and Maja Bajorek will join the Redhawks in 2023-24.

Demunck, a native of Thoiry, France, is a four-time Geneva Champion at Cned High School. She was a three-sport athlete also competing in swimming and judo. Demunck is the daughter of Valéry Demunck and Natalya Slobodina.
"Juliette is a great addition to our program," said SEMO Head Coach Mary Beth Gunn. "She has been playing a tough tournament schedule to prepare for college tennis. Juliette is excited to be a Redhawk and I am looking forward to help her develop her game."

Czapulak hails from Legnica, Poland where she ranked as high as 13 in Polish U18 singles. Her team finished seventh in the U18 National Teams Championships in 2022. Czapulak also holds a #23 ranking in both Polish senior singles and Polish senior doubles. She earned a pair of first-place finishes in singles at the ITF Junior DeSki Warsaw Cup and PZT Super Seria Junior Tournament. Czapulak is the daughter of Marcin Czapulak and Ewa Korwek.
"Ewa comes in with both singles and doubles experience which is going to help her transition to the NCAA Division I college level," said Gunn. "She has a huge serve that is a big advantage on the court. Ewa is a great person with a good sense of humor and she will fit in well with our team."

Bajorek is also from Poland (Krakow). She is ranked 17th in Polish 18 singles and 19th in Polish senior doubles. Bajorek was part of three top-four team finishes at the National Teams Championship. Her team placed third in U18 in 2020, fourth in U18 in 2019 and fourth in U16 during the 2019 campaign. Bajorek was a doubles winner on two occasions in 2022. She is the daughter of Piotr Bajorek and Magdalena KrÓlicka-Bajorek.
"Maja has been working hard on the tennis court and she is a great student," added Gunn. "Her father, Piotr, has done a great job coaching her and getting her ready for her college career. She will be a great asset to our University on the court and in the classroom."
