Redhawks Announce 2022 Soccer Schedule and Ticketing

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri women's soccer announced its 2022 schedule Wednesday.
The Redhawks will play 16 regular-season games during the campaign. The slate features eight non-conference contests and eight home games at Houck Field.
Southeast Missouri will compete in a pair of preseason exhibitions at Western Illinois on Sunday, Aug. 7 and against Central Arkansas on Sunday, Aug. 14 at Houck Field prior to regular-season play.
SEMO opens its 24th season in program history at in-state rival and Southeastern Conference (SEC) member Missouri on Thursday, Aug. 18 in Columbia, Missouri.
The Redhawks then return to Cape Girardeau for their regular-season home opener at Houck Field against Illinois Springfield on Sunday, Aug. 21.
SEMO also hosts Columbia College (Aug. 28), Evansville (Sept. 8) and Southern Illinois (Sept. 11) at Houck Field during non-conference play.
Southeast Missouri takes on Missouri State on Thursday, Aug. 25 in Springfield, Missouri, before wrapping its non-conference road schedule with a trip to The Centennial State.
The Redhawks will face Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Sept. 1 before a meeting with Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Sept. 4.
The 2022 schedule also includes eight Ohio Valley Conference games beginning with SIUE, the 2021 OVC Tournament Champions and Regular-Season Champions, on Sept. 18 at Houck Field.
SEMO will also host OVC foes Lindenwood (Oct. 2), Morehead State (Oct. 9) and Southern Indiana (Oct. 20) in 2022.
The Redhawks will hit the road to face Eastern Illinois (Sept. 22), Little Rock (Oct. 6), Tennessee Tech (16) and UT Martin, the 2021 OVC Regular-Season Champions, in the regular-season finale on Oct. 23.
The 2022 OVC Tournament Championship will be contested Oct. 28 through Nov. 6. The first two rounds will be hosted on campus sites (with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting) while the semifinals and championship will be played on campus at the No. 1 seed and regular-season champion.
SEMO finished 2021 as an OVC Tournament Semifinalist, going on a Cinderella run as the #7-seed. The Redhawks edged #6 Morehead State, 1-0, in the First Round before eliminating Quarterfinals host, #3 Belmont, 2-1, in overtime. The Redhawks then fell to #2 SIUE, the 2021 OVC Tournament Champions, in the Semifinals.
SEMO finished the 2021 campaign with a 7-10-2 overall record (2-4-2 in the OVC).
The Redhawks return five All-OVC players this season in midfielders Kiana Khedoo (2021 Second-Team) and Elizabeth Rater (2021 Second-Team and All-Newcomer Team), redshirt senior forward Morgan McCourt (2020-21 Tournament, 2018 All-Newcomer), senior defender Natalie Jackson (2019 All-Tournament) and Cape Girardeau midfielder/defender Emma Brune (2020-21 Second Team, All-Newcomer and Tournament).
The 2022 squad also features nine freshmen.
Head coach Heather Nelson will lead the Redhawks in her 24th season at SEMO in 2022.
Entering Houck Field
Due to the Houck Project construction ongoing this fall, stadium operations will be modified. Fans may enter Houck Field either through the gates on the north side of the stadium (behind Kent Library) or the main front entrance of Houck Field House. The Houck Field House entrance is fully ADA accessible, with an elevator to field-level.
Parking will not be available in the east end zone of Houck Field during soccer home games this fall.

Season tickets and single game tickets are now on sale for the upcoming fall season. All seating at Houck Field is general admission.
Season tickets can be purchased for $39 (including all taxes and fees). Redhawks Club members at the Varsity level and above along with SEMO Faculty and Staff are eligible for discounted season tickets.
Single game tickets are $6 when purchased online (including all taxes and fees). Walk-up admission at Houck Field is $8 for adults and $6 for children 14 and younger.
