BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Southeast MIssouri senior
Rachel Rook won the final Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week honor of the 2022 campaign Monday.
A native of Republic, Missouri, Rook went 3-0 with a 1.34 ERA in her final three home games in a SEMO uniform. She beat Belmont all three games,  tossed two complete games and recorded 16 strikeouts in 15.2 innings of work. Rook gave up just three runs on eight hits over the weekend. She struck out seven in a complete game to get a series opening win. After striking out three in 1.2 scoreless no-hit innings of relief, Rook was credited with the win in game two. She then followed that up by striking out six and giving up two runs in seven innings during the series finale.
Rook became the first pitcher in SEMO softball history to get 600 career strikeouts.
