Redhawks Down Bradley, 6-1, with Six-Straight Singles Wins Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri women's tennis (5-3) secured a 6-1 victory over Bradley (4-8) Saturday at the Redhawks Tennis Complex after winning all six singles matches.
After dropping the doubles point, SEMO rattled off six-straight singles victories to extend the Redhawks win streak to four matches.
SEMO sealed the 6-1 win with victories at the first, fourth, third, second, sixth and fifth singles slots.
Trailing 1-0, the Redhawks evened the match at the top position.
Romana Tarajova, the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference Top Player, defeated Bozana Lojpur, 6-0, 6-2, to tie the contest at 1-1.
With the win, Tarajova improved to 4-2 with her third-consecutive victory at the top slot.
Ksenia Shikanova then beat Maria Bezmenova, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 4 singles for her fourth-straight win this season.
Myroslava Zelenchuk then bested Madalena Andrade, 6-0, 6-4, at the third lineup spot before Daniela Hlacikova downed Kirstin Hailey, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2.
For Zelenchuk, a freshman from Lviv, Ukraine, the win was her fourth straight in 2022.
SEMO concluded the dual with wins at the sixth and fifth matches.
Teona Velkoska overcame Nikki Perlwitz, 7-5, 6-4, followed by Vivian Lai fighting past Nina Marjanovic, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3).
In doubles, Hlacikova and Velkoska defeated Lojpur and Perlwitz at the middle position after the Braves won the No. 1 doubles slot.
With the win, Hlacikova and Velkoska improved to 3-1 in 2022.
Hailey and Andrade beat Tarajova and Shikanova, 6-1, before Bezmenova and Marjanovic claimed the doubles point at the third doubles slot.
Bezmenova and Marjanovic overcame Lai and Zelenchuk, 6-4, with doubles tied at 1-1.
SEMO will next head on the road for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, March 9. The Redhawks will take on Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Arkansas. First serve is slated for 1 p.m., CT.
