Southeast Missouri (8-14, 6-10) plays host to Eastern Kentucky (17-5, 11-4) on Senior Night Saturday. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m., CT at the Show Me Center.

Farewell Seniors
Southeast Missouri will honor seniors Nolan Taylor and Evan Morrison prior to tip of Saturday's game vs. Eastern Kentucky. Taylor, a graduate senior, is SEMO's third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder with nine points and 4.7 points per game, respectively. He started 15 of 17 games finishing as the Redhawks top rebounder in four contests. Taylor also scored double figures on eight occasions during his only season at SEMO. Morrison, a walk-on, played in 20 games during his two seasons with the Redhawks. 

Series History
The Redhawks and Eastern Kentucky meet for the 53rd time Saturday. EKU holds a 33-19 lead in the series between these teams. The Colonels have won at the Show Me Center in six of their previous seven trips to Cape Girardeau. SEMO last beat EKU, 81-48, on Dec. 31, 2016 (Cape Girardeau). The Colonels have gone 18-3 in their last 21 matchups with the Redhawks.

Redhawks Take Down Austin Peay
Southeast Missouri overcame a 13-point second-half deficit to pull off a thrilling 86-81 overtime victory over Austin Peay Tuesday. SEMO trailed, 49-36, with 15:30 remaining when they battled back to wipe out their double-digit deficit. The Redhawks used a 7-0 run to get within three (65-62) with just under four minutes left. Eric Reed, Jr. then splashed in a 3-pointer to cut APSU's lead to 69-68 with under a minute to go. SEMO again got within a point (71-70) on a jumper by Chris Harris 30 ticks later. After Carlos Paez's two free throws stretched the Governors lead to 73-70, Darrious Agnew buried a 3-pointer to send the game to overtime. SEMO outscored APSU, 13-8, in the extra period to put the win on ice.

Last Time it Happened
The Redhawks beat Austin Peay for the first time since 2017 and ended an eight-game losing streak in their series with the Governors. Southeast Missouri's last victory over APSU before Tuesday was 82-71 on Jan. 28, 2017 in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Final Two Home Games
Southeast Missouri plays host to Eastern Kentucky in its final two home games of the 2020-21 season. After Saturday's contest, EKU will stay in Cape Girardeau to face the Redhawks again on Feb. 22 at 2 p.m., CT. SEMO and EKU were supposed to play on Jan. 23, in Richmond, but that game was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols in the Colonels program. Both schools then agreed to reschedule that game for Feb. 22 in Cape Girardeau.

About Eastern Kentucky
Eastern Kentucky comes to Cape Girardeau at third in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with an overall record of 18-5 and 12-4 in the OVC. EKU's 17 wins are the second-most in the conference behind Belmont's 22. The Colonels are the top defensive team in the league with an OVC best 10.7 steals per game and +6.36 turnover margin. EKU is turning its opponents over an average of 19.6 times a game. The Colonels lead the conference with 217 three-pointers made (9.9 per game). Tre King (4th, 15.5 ppg) and Wendell Green, Jr. (10th, 14.3 ppg) are both among the OVC's top 10 scorers for the Colonels. Green, Jr. also tops the conference in assists (117), while Michael Moreno is shooting an OVC best 48.1 percent (50-of-104) from 3-point range.

Redhawks Look to Build on Momentum
The Redhawks snapped a three-game losing streak with their recent win over Austin Peay (Feb. 16). Southeast Missouri won its eighth game of the season, surpassing its total of seven victories in 2019-20. SEMO also picked up its sixth Ohio Valley Conference win and doubled its number of league victories from last season (3-15).

Reed, Jr. Heating Up
Eric Reed, Jr. scored over 20 points in each of his last two starts, becoming the first Southeast Missouri player to score over 20 points in back-to-back games this season. Reed, Jr. led the Redhawks in both of their contests against Austin Peay (Feb. 13, Feb. 16). He dropped in 21 points on 9-of-16 field goals and 3-of-6 three-pointers in Clarksville, Tennessee. Three days later, he notched a career-high 22 points with a career-best five 3-pointers against the Governors in Cape Girardeau. Combined, Reed, Jr. shot 58.6 percent (17-of-29) from the field and 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from beyond the arc, while posting an average of 21.5 points in two games against APSU.

Agnew Forces Overtime
Southeast Missouri trailed, 73-70, when Darrious Agnew stepped behind the 3-point line and nailed a trey with three seconds left taking Austin Peay to overtime on Feb. 16. Agnew shot 4-of-7 from the field and made three free throws en route to scoring a season-high 12 points. The game-tying 3-pointer was just his second made three of the season.

Block Party
Manny Patterson collected a season-high four blocks in Southeast Missouri's win over Austin Peay (Feb. 16). Patterson, who leads the team with 15 blocks this season, finished with three or more blocks in a game for the third time in 2020-21. He ranks 11th in the Ohio Valley Conference in blocks.

Russell Throws it Down
Nygal Russell intercepted a Carlos Paez pass and threw down a massive dunk in transition to get Southeast Missouri a 84-81 lead in overtime against Austin Peay (Feb. 16). Nana Akenten followed that up with two free throws to seal the Redhawks victory.

Season-High 86 Points
The Redhawks poured in a season-high 86 points in its five-point overtime victory over Austin Peay (Feb. 16). Southeast Missouri scored over 80 points for the third time this year. The Redhawks won all three of those games where they scored over 80 points.

Love and Taylor Update
Jordan Love (Achilles) and Nolan Taylor (knee) missed Tuesday's game against Austin Peay (Feb. 16). Love and Taylor are day-to-day and their status for Saturday's matchup with Eastern Kentucky is undetermined at this time.

150th NCAA Division I Win
Southeast Missouri is in its 114th season of basketball. On Feb. 16, the Redhawks claimed their 350th victory as an NCAA Division I program with their 86-81 overtime win over Austin Peay. SEMO joined the Division I ranks in 1991-92 and is in its 30th season as an NCAA Division I program. The Redhawks hold an overall Division I record of 350-519.

Homecourt Success
Six of Southeast Missouri's eight wins have come at the Show Me Center this season. The Redhawks beat Lipscomb, 82-77, on Dec. 7, Tennessee State, 83-79, in double overtime on Jan. 2, SIU Edwardsville, 64-62, on Jan. 28,  Eastern Illinois, 75-44, on Jan. 30, Tennessee Tech, 68-64, on Feb. 4 and Austin Peay, 86-81, in overtime on Feb. 16. The Redhawks are 6-5 at home this year and matched their six victories in Cape Girardeau a year ago.

Four of Six
Southeast Missouri won four of its last six games at the Show Me Center. SEMO beat SIU Edwardsville, 64-62, on Jan. 28, Eastern Illinois, 75-44, on Jan. 30, Tennessee Tech, 68-64, on Feb. 4 and Austin Peay, 86-81 (OT), on Feb. 16.

Where The Stand
The Redhawks enter the weekend at eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with four games to go. Southeast Missouri (6-10), UT Martin (5-11), Eastern Illinois (4-12), Tennessee Tech (3-13) and Tennessee State (2-14) occupy the 8-12 spots in the standings. The top eight teams go to this year's OVC Tournament in Evansville, Indiana.

Eight NCAA Division I Wins 
Southeast Missouri picked up its eighth NCAA Division I win this season with its 86-81 overtime victory over Austin Peay (Feb. 16). SEMO surpassed its number of wins (5) over NCAA Division I teams a year ago by a +3 margin. The eight Division I wins are SEMO's most in a season since it had eight in 2018-19.

Leading at Halftime
The Redhawks have either led or been tied at halftime in 12 of its 22 games this season. Southeast Missouri held a 35-33 edge at the intermission at Ohio Valley Conference leader Belmont (Jan. 7). It was the first time SEMO led at the half in 10 meetings with the Bruins. Five of the the Redhawks eight wins have come when they led at the half this year.

Close Games
Southeast Missouri, which has been outscored by a tight 3.5 margin, dropped three contests in overtime and one on a last second shot since its 2020-21 campaign began on Nov. 28. SEMO has lost seven times by double figures (77-66, at Belmont, Jan. 7; 64-50, vs. Morehead State, Jan. 16; 76-65 at Morehead State, Jan. 21; 77-60 vs. Murray State, Feb. 1; 66-54 vs. Jacksonville State; 80-60 at Murray State, Feb. 12; 78-63 at Austin Peay, Feb. 13) and won six games by no more than five points. SEMO also dropped three games by three points or less. Additionally, the Redhawks been involved in nine games decided by no more than five points.

Working Overtime
The Redhawks went to overtime fivetimes in this year. Southeast Missouri lost at home to Southern Illinois (87-79) on Dec. 2 and at Lipscomb (80-74) on Dec. 9. The Redhawks also fell to Evansville (66-63) on the road on Dec. 15, beat Tennessee State (83-79) at home on Jan. 2 and defeated Austin Peay (86-81) at home on Jan. 16. SEMO was involved in only one overtime game in 31 contests last season. SEMO's three overtimes against non-conference foes were the most in program history. The Redhawks last played five overtime games in a season during the 1997-98 campaign. 

Board Certified
The Redhawks outrebounded their opponent 13 times this season. Southeast Missouri ranks fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference with a +2.6 rebounding margin and is outrebounding its opponents, 774-717. The Redhawks are also averaging 9.5 offensive rebounds per contest.
