CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Eden Holt made a baseline jumper with one second left to lift UT Martin (3-0, 1-0) to a 69-67 win over Southeast Missouri (2-4, 0-1) Friday night at the Show Me Center.
Chris Harris, who had a team and career-high 23 points for SEMO, tied the game at 67-67 on his trey with eight seconds left.
Then, on the final possession of the game, Holt drove to his right and got off his jumper which dropped through the basket to give the Skyhawks their Ohio Valley Conference opening victory.
SEMO, which lost for the first time this season in a game that didn't go to overtime, led for only 1:39 of the entire contest.
In a back-and-forth battle that included four ties and six lead changes, the Redhawks never led by more than two points and were shaken off by the Skyhawks every time they made a run.
Holt's 3-pointer put UTM up, 54-48, with a little over seven minutes to go.

Nygal Russell made a layup, was fouled and converted a 3-point play to make it a 54-54 game.
With less than a minute remaining, Harris made a layup to pull SEMO within three (67-64) before knocking down his game-tying trifecta 49 seconds later.
SEMO started slow and trailed by 11 in the first 10 minutes of the game.
After Karon Eskridge's jumper put the Skyhawks ahead 21-10 with 9:37 left to play, the Redhawks responded with a 12-0 run to grab their first lead.
Reed, Jr. (5) and
Nolan Taylor (4) combined for nine points during the surge that ended with Harris burying a jumper to give the Redhawks a 22-21 edge at the 5:30 mark.
Neither team led by more than three for the remainder of the first half which resulted in a 31-31 deadlock. Harris scored 12 points in 15 minutes to lead all scorers in the opening stanza.
Harris scored double figures for the fifth time this season and turned in his second 20-point effort. He shot 7-of-14 from the field and made 7-of-10 free throws in 32 minutes.
DQ Nicholas followed with 11 points and six rebounds, while Reed, Jr. added 10 points off the bench. Russell contributed four points and five rebounds, as well. He went over 200 rebounds in his career.
Manny Patterson, a transfer from Green Bay, saw his first action at SEMO after the NCAA voted that Division I transfers could play immediately. Patterson had four rebounds in five minutes.
SEMO shot 45.1 percent (23-of-51) from the field and made nine 3-pointers.
Jordan Love had a career-high three treys.
Cameron Holden led all scorers with a double-double 24 points and 10 rebounds. Jaron Williams and Holt joined Holden in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
UTM shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57) from the field for the game.
The Redhawks, who have lost three games in a row by a combined 11 points, dropped to 10-20 all-time in OVC openers.
SEMO will travel to Missouri Valley Conference foe Indiana State for its last game before the Christmas holiday on Dec. 22.
