EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Southeast Missouri (2-2-0) picked up its first road win of the season when it edged Evansville (0-3-1), 2-1, Friday night.
Nearby Jackson native Cassidi Tomsu kicked the game-winning goal in the 74thminute to send the Redhawks to their first road win of the season.
SEMO took eight shots in the first half and scored early when Megan Heisserer found the net just 2:22 into the contest. Heisserer recorded her second goal of the season after the ball bounced off UE goalie Michaela Till.
The Purple Aces tied the game at the 20:35 mark off Emily Ormson's first goal of the year.
SEMO was aggressive all night outshooting UE, 19-8. The Redhawks also had 11 shots on goal, including three by Heisserer.
The Redhawks conclude their four-game road stretch at Arkansas State on Sept. 15.
