CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri defeated Memphis, 1-0, in exhibition action Saturday night at Houck Field.
Cassidi Tomsu scored the only goal of the contest in the 25th minute. The exhibition matchup was split into three 30-minute periods.
Tomsu's goal was a header that came off an assist by
Lauren Welker. Welker fed the ball in from the far right side of the field. Tomsu placed the ball in the bottom left side of the goal to put the Redhawks ahead.
Bailey Redden played the entire game in goal for the Redhawks. She made three saves in her shutout.
After an action-packed first period, both teams went scoreless for the final 60 minutes. Memphis outshot SEMO 10-7, and had seven corner kicks to the Redhawks three.Â
SEMO will continue exhibition action at Missouri State Wednesday.
