Redhawks Play Final Home Games This Weekend
Southeast Missouri (33-12, 10-4) plays its final home games this weekend. The Redhawks will face Eastern Illinois (13-35, 3-13) in a 2 p.m., CT, doubleheader Friday and Morehead State (2-31, 0-12) in an 11 a.m., CT, twin bill Saturday.

FREE Food & Drink
Kohlfeld Distributing will provide free beverages (beer to those of age) and Sugarfire Smokehouse will be on hand to sell food items at Friday's doubleheader against Eastern Illinois. On Saturday, free hot dogs will be available for the Morehead State twin bill.

Redhawks Third in the OVC
Entering Easter Weekend, Southeast Missouri (10-4) is third in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. Murray State (11-3) leads the conference, while Jacksonville State (12-4) and Eastern Kentucky (12-4) tie for second ahead of SEMO. Eastern Illinois (13-35, 3-13) and Morehead State (2-31, 0-12) are the last two teams in the standings with a combined record of 15-66 overall and 3-25 in league play. 

Series History
The Redhawks hold a 41-38 lead in its all-time series against Eastern Illinois. EIU won four-straight and eight of the last nine meetings with Southeast Missouri. The last time SEMO beat the Panthers in a series was 2015. The Redhawks are 59-22 all-time and 28-8 in Cape Girardeau against Morehead State. 

Long Home Stand
Southeast Missouri closes out its season-long 10-game home stand when Eastern Illinois and Morehead State come to town this weekend. The Redhawks are 3-3 during their current home stand which began on Apr. 12. SEMO is scheduled to play eight games in five days this week.

Senior Day
The Redhawks will honor seniors Mykaela Arellanes, Sarah Messex, Parker Bandy, Haley Thogmartin and Mackenzie Long in a special presentation prior to first pitch of their doubleheader against Morehead State. Messex, Thogmartin and Long have played all four of their college seasons at Southeast Missouri.

10 Shutout Victories
Southeast Missouri posted its 10th shutout victory of the season when it defeated Austin Peay, 9-0, in five innings on Apr. 12. The Redhawks have been involved in 12 shutouts this year and are 10-2 in those contests.

That Was Fast
The Redhawks became the quickest team in the Ohio Valley Conference to get 30 wins when they beat UT Martin, 1-0, 6-0, on Apr. 10. Southeast Missouri recently picked up its 33rd win when it edged Saint Louis, 4-3, on Apr. 17. SEMO tied its total number of wins from a year ago with that victory. The Redhawks posted 30 or more wins in consecutive  seasons for the first time since 1999 (31-17) and 2000 (31-24). SEMO now has a total of seventeen 30-win seasons in program history. 

What's the Record?
Southeast Missouri's record for most wins in a season during its NCAA Division I era stands at 39 during the 1996 campaign. The record for most wins in a season in program history is 40 during the 1986 season.

33 or More Wins
Southeast Missouri is one of 20 teams in the nation with 33 or more wins this season (as of games through Apr. 17). The Redhawks rank 29th in the country with a .733 winning percentage at 33-12 overall. Here is the list of teams with 33 or more victories in NCAA Division I softball this year:

Arellanes Three Runs Away From Single-Season Record
Mykaela Arellanes is three runs away from breaking Southeast Missouri's all-time single-season runs scored record. Arellanes is tied for third with 46 runs scored. Kim Palmer presently holds the record with 48 runs in 1998.

Anderson Goes Over 100 RBI
Rachel Anderson reached 100 career RBI with her two-run home run against Murray State (Apr. 15). Anderson, now with 102 RBI, has gone over the 100 career mark in four statistical categories. The others are runs (110), hits (184) and starts (148).

Thogmartin Clears 100 Strikeouts
Pitcher Haley Thogmartin went over 100 strikeouts when she recorded five against Saint Louis (Apr. 17). Thogmartin's 104 strikeouts currently rank sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference. It is the first time in her career that she has tailled more than 100 strikeouts in a season.

Two With 10
For the first time since 2007, Southeast MIssouri has two players with 10 or more home runs in a season. Ashley Ellis leads the team with 12 and Rachel Anderson follows with 10. Michelle Summers (14) and Stacia Dopudja (12) were the last to accomplish the feat in 2007.

On Pace
The Redhawks hit 54 home runs through 45 games this season. Southeast Missouri needs four home runs to break the school's all-time single-season record which stands at 57 by the 2007 club. SEMO currently leads the Ohio Valley Conference in home runs.

Anderson Second Nationally in Batting Average 
Center fielder Rachel Anderson is hitting .492 through 45 games this season. Anderson is second in the nation in batting average behind UMass Lowell's Courtney Cashman (.531), 

Ellis Chases Single-Season Home Run Record
First baseman Ashley Ellis clobbered her 12th home run of the season against Murray State (Apr. 15). Ellis, who ranks tied for fourth on SEMO's all-time single-season list and fourth among the school's career leaders in home runs (21), is five homers away from breaking the Redhawks single-season record. Kayla Fortner holds that mark with 16 in 2015.
