CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri (13-16, 8-10 OVC) clinched a spot in the 2019 Ohio Valley Tournament despite 92-86 loss to Belmont Saturday at the Show Me Center.
The Redhawks shot 92.9 percent (13-of-14) from the charity stripe for a season-best. SEMO also made 11 three-pointer to tie the season-high.
Tesia Thompson posted 31 points against the Bruins, recording a career-high four three pointers. Thompson is now ranked ninth in program history with 519 points scored in a single season. She now has 907 career points in two seasons as a Redhawk.
Carrie Shephard and
Adrianna Murphy joined Thompson in double-figures. Murphy posted 11 points in her final game at the Show Me Center, totaling 909 career points.
Shephard posted 22-points with six three-pointers. With the six long-shots, Shephard is now the single-season record for three-point field goals made with 73.
Southeast trailed the Bruins 21-20 at the end of the first quarter, with Thompson scoring 14 points in the quarter. The Redhawks went 7-of-7 (1.000) from the line to start the game.

Adrianna Murphy posting nine points and two assists on the final quarter.
