Southeast Missouri holds an Ohio Valley Conference best record of 6-1-1 in league play. The Redhawks wrap up the regular season when Jacksonville State (Oct. 25) and Tennessee Tech (Oct. 27) visit Houck Field. Watch the Redhawks live on ESPN+. Live stats will be available at GoSoutheast.com. 

The Redhawks are undefeated with a 5-0 record at Houck Field. SEMO and Belmont are the only two undefeated OVC teams in October.
 
No OVC school had a winning record entering the start of conference play. SEMO won six of its first seven league contests to get 18 points, then tied UT Martin to reach a league-high 19 points. The Redhawks improved to 8-8-5 all-time in OVC openers and were off to a 3-0 start in conference play for the first time in eight years.

OVC Tournament 
SEMO has already clinched a spot in this year's OVC Tournament. The tournament is split between two weekends, with the first round starting Nov. 1 at the sites of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The semifinals and championship will be held at the site of the No. 1 seed the weekend of Nov. 8. SEMO could claim the No. 1 seed as early as Friday if it beats Jacksonville State and Murray State loses to Belmont.  The complete eight-team OVC Tournament field will be determined following Sunday's action.

Senior Day
The senior class will be honored prior to the start of the Tennessee Tech game (Oct. 27). The six seniors on this year's squad are Jennifer Brien, Esmie Gonzales, Katie Lever, Siena Senatore, Jordan Nelson and Cassidi Tomsu. All six have spent their entire collegiate careers with the Redhawks. 

Series History vs. JSU
The Redhawks lead their all-time series against JSU, 11-6-3. The last meeting was in Jacksonville, Alabama where SEMO defeated the Gamecocks 1-0 on Sept. 23, 2018. The Redhawks are 9-1-1 all-time at Houck Field against JSU, winning the last two meetings.

Scouting JSU
JSU is 4-12 this season with a 1-7 mark in conference play. The lone conference win came against Murray State (3-2) on Oct. 18. Prior to the victory over MSU, the Gamecocks lost nine straight matches. Cynthia Bagozzi leads JSU with seven goals and 35 shots. Bagozzi has an assist and two game-winning goals. In goal, Morgan Lerch and Chloe Russo split time, both recording 41 saves a piece. 
 
Series History vs. TTU
The Redhawks lead their all-time series against TTU, 14-6-3. The last meeting ended in a scoreless draw in Cookeville, Tennessee on Oct. 5, 2018. The Redhawks are 9-1-1 all-time at home against the Golden Eagles.  

Scouting TTU
TTU is 6-5-5 this season with a 4-1-3 mark in conference play. Recently, the Golden Eagles tied Eastern Illinois on Oct. 18. Before that, TTU won three straight matches. Junior Kendall Powell leads the team with six goals and 37 shots. Goalkeeper Isabelle Austin has allowed 25 goals, but worked three shutouts this season. Austin has made 70 saves and boasts a .737 save percentage.  

Record Year
Esmie Gonzales earned First-Team All-OVC honors in back-to-back seasons. Gonzales ranks among Southeast Missouri's top five career leaders in goals (t2nd, 28), and points (t3rd, 68). The Fort Worth, Texas native holds the record for shots (214) and is tied for first in game-winning goals (12), and shots on goal (101). The 2019 campaign marks the final season for Gonzales.
 
Redden Named OVC Goalkeeper of the Week
Bailey Redden was named the OVC's Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 7. Redden recorded 14 saves for the week, allowing just one goal in 197 minutes in net. She recorded her second shutout of the season against regional-rival Southern Illinois. 

Succeeding In the Classroom
Southeast Missouri ranked 13th in the nation out of nearly 650 teams in grade point average after posting a 3.66 GPA for the 2018-19 academic year according to the United Soccer Coaches. SEMO had five student-athletes receive the OVC Medal of Honor with 4.0 GPAs. Bri Caccavale, Kate Daus, Emily Holten, Katie Lever and Morgan McCourt were those individuals.There were 20 women's soccer student-athletes honored on the Commissioner's Honor Roll after posting at least a 3.25 GPA in one season of competition.
 
Heisserer Hot Start
Freshman Megan Heisserer is off to a hot start in a Redhawks uniform. In exhibition play, the Scott City, Missouri native had a goal and an assist. So far this season, Heisserer has three goals and two assists on 20 shots. Heisserer ties a team-high 14 shouts on goal.
 
Let's Recap
The Redhawks are 9-4-1 with wins over Southern Mississippi (3-2) and Evansville (2-1) in non-conference play. SEMO defeated Belmont (2-1), Eastern Illinois (1-0), Austin Peay (2-1), SIUE (2-1), Eastern Kentucky (1-0) and Morehead State (5-1) in OVC action. SEMO tied UT Martin (2-2) on October 20. The Redhawks dropped matches to SEC opponents Ole Miss (2-0) and Arkansas (5-0), and fell to Arkansas State (1-0) and Murray State (5-0). The Redhawks went 3-0 in exhibition play with wins over Memphis (1-0), Missouri State (3-0) and Southern Illinois (2-1). Senior Esmie Gonzales was named to the OVC Preseason Player Watch List.
