Box Score MOREHEAD, Ky. – Southeast Missouri (9-4, 6-1) scored a season-high five goals in a dominating 5-1 win over Morehead State (4-10-1, 2-4-1) Sunday afternoon.
The red-hot Redhawks won their fourth-straight game and posted their seventh victory in eight contests. SEMO also swept the Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State road swing for the first time in 12 years.
Five different SEMO players scored goals to propel the Redhawks to their sixth Ohio Valley Conference victory. Three of those scores came in the second half alone.
Esmie Gonzales put SEMO ahead with her second goal of the season in the 11th minute. Nine minutes later, Hailey Block scored off a pass from Jennifer Brien. Block scored her team-high fifth goal and has scored in five-straight games.
Brien, Kennedy Jones and Katie Lever each scored in the final 45 minutes to bury the Eagles.
SEMO was outshot, 18-16, but scored on five of its nine shots on goal. Bailey Redden saved seven of MSU's eight shots on goal.
The Redhawks last scored five goals in an OVC road game at Tennessee Tech (5-1) on Oct. 8, 2006.
SEMO, which is back in first place in the OVC standings, returns to action when it heads to UT Martin on Oct. 20.
