RICHMOND, Ky. – Hailey Block's team-high fourth goal of the season was the difference as Southeast Missouri (8-4, 5-1) shutout Eastern Kentucky (4-10, 2-4), 1-0, in rainy conditions Friday.
Block, who has scored a goal in three-straight games, placed the ball in the low right part of the net off a pass from Jennifer Brien during the 26th minute of play. The game-winner sent SEMO to its second-straight shutout and third this year.
Although the Redhawks were outshot, 11-9, SEMO held a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal. Block and Lauren Welker each finished with two shots apiece.
SEMO posted its third-straight win and tied rival Murray State for the most overall wins this season to date.
The Redhawks head to Morehead State Sunday.
