CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (7-8, 2-2 OVC) was unable to hold off Murray State (6-9, 2-2 OVC) in a 69-54 loss at the Show Me Center Saturday.
SEMO went 23-of-60 (.383) from the field to the Racers 19-of-46 (.413).
Adrianna Murphy led the Redhawks with 13 points and four assists.
LaTrese Saine posted seven rebounds and four blocks.
The Redhawks finished with 26 points off the bench, with
Iyanna McCurdy posting a season-high eight points. MSU did not have a single point from its reserves.
The Racers went on an 11-0 run to start the second quarter and extend their lead to 28-16. This was fueled by five SEMO turnovers. MSU led by as many as 12 points in the game, which came off that surge.
SEMO made a run in the third quarter to tie the game three times, but was unable to get ahead of the Racers.
In the fourth quarter, MSU led by eight points after back-to-back 3-pointers and never looked back.
SEMO finished with eight turnovers and five steals, while the Racers committed 16 turnovers.
Guard Macey Turley registered a team-high 32 points to lead the Racers. Evelyn Adebayo recorded her eighth double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) against the Redhawks.
SEMO heads to Morehead State on Jan. 17.
