JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Southeast Missouri (2-7, 0-3) dropped a 1-0 decision in overtime to Jacksonville State (3-5-2) Sunday.
Bailey Redden made her second consecutive start in goal against JSU and made six saves on the day.
The match featured a total of 31 shots between the teams. SEMO recorded 14 shots, only one of which was on goal.
Esmie Gonzales and
Cassidi Tomsu led the SEMO offense with four shots each. They were followed by six other Redhawks who all had one shot.
The decisive goal came at the 96th minute or the Gamecocks. Julia Papa scored off of a ball that was lofted over the defenders and sent into the left side of the net.
SEMO returns to action when it hosts Eastern Kentucky Thursday. Start time is 6:30 p.m., CT, at Houck Field.
