SEMO trails in its all-time series against Missouri State, 7-2. The Redhawks have lost five-straight games against the Bears. SEMO's last win over MSU was 15 years ago.
About Missouri State
Missouri State enters the week undefeated at 2-0 this young season. The Bears beat Western Illinois, 1-0, and Tulsa, 3-2.  In 2017, MSU finished with a 10-9-2 record. The Bears advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they fell to #16 Oklahoma State.Â

SEMO finished the 2017 season with an 8-8-4 overall record and 4-3-3 mark in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Redhawks dropped their season-opener to Evansville, 2-1, on Aug. 16.
Looking Ahead
The regular season progresses looking ahead to Illinois-Springfield which visits Houck Field Friday. SEMO then travels west to face Arizona and Arizona State.
OVC Preseason Poll
SEMO was picked to finish tied for fourth in the 2018 OVC Predicted Order of Finish. Murray State was picked to win the league with 15 first-place votes. Two other teams also garnered first-place votes, including Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech. The Redhawks conference slate begins against Murray State on Sept. 13.Â
Roster Breakdown
The 2018Â roster consists of 24 student-athletes, including 17 returnees, six of which were regular starters in 2017. Notable players back in 2018 are both 2017 OVC All-Tournament Team senior forward Lauren Kaempfe and junior midfielder Esmie Gonzales.
