Taylor Joins Redhawks for the 2018-19 Basketball Season

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.- Southeast Missouri's Women's Basketball program inked another transfer as Jocelyn Taylor joined the Redhawks for the 2018-19 season Tuesday.

The 6'0" guard/forward helped her Moberly Area Community College team to a historic 32-1 season and Moberly ranked as high as fourth in the country. In her sophomore campaign, Taylor averaged 9.6 points, five rebounds, 2.2 steals an 1.1 blocks per game. She was named First-Team All-Region and Second-Team All-MCCAC. Taylor led the Lady Greyhounds in steals and finished second in blocks to earn herself the title of Lady Greyhounds Defensive Player of the Year.

The Grand Rapids, Michigan native, was named Freshman of the Year in both the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region 24 the year before at Southeastern Illinois College.

Head Coach Rekha Patterson said, "Jocelyn's winning experience, basketball IQ, competitive spirit and versatility will be a great addition to our program. We are excited she chose to wear a SEMO uniform."
