Series History
Southeast is 2-1 all-time against Bowling Green. The Redhawks and Falcons meet in a weekend series for the second time in four years. Southeast won two of three in Cape Girardeau back in 2015. The first two games of that series were one-run contests as the Redhawks and Falcons faced each other to open the 2015 campaign.

Home-Openers
The Redhawks are 18-8 all-time in home-openers since joining the NCAA Division I ranks in 1992. Southeast has won eight of its last 11 home-openers at Capaha Field. The Redhawks swept Western Illinois in their home-opening weekend last season, outscoring the Leathernecks, 32-7, in the three-game series.

Active on the Basepaths
Southeast finished with five stolen bases at Arkansas State (Feb. 20). Danny Wright and Connor Basler each had two, and Trevor Ezell added one. The Redhawks last stole five or more bases in a game vs. UT Martin (5) on Mar. 19, 2017. Southeast ranks fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference with six stolen bases through four games this season.

Ezell Leads the OVC
Trevor Ezell is off to a roaring start this 2018 season. Ezell recorded multiple hits in his first four starts and recently tied a career-high four RBI at Arkansas State (Feb. 20). He leads the Ohio Valley Conference in batting average (.643), on-base percentage (.647) and hits (9). Ezell ranks 13th in the nation in batting average, as well.

One-Run Games
The Redhawks dropped their second-straight one-run game when they fell to Arkansas State, 7-6, on the road Tuesday. Southeast led, 3-0, after two-and-a-half innings and later trailed, 6-4, entering the ninth inning. The Redhawks were down to their final out when Trevor Ezell delivered a two-RBI double to tie the game. Southeast is 9-10 in one-run games under head coach Andy Sawyers.

Hit Batsmen
Southeast enters the weekend ranked second in the Ohio Valley Conference in hit by pitch. Redhawk hitters have been hit by a pitch a total of seven times this season. Danny Wright has been hit by a pitch a team-high three times this year.

Stauss Goes Yard
Freshman catcher Wade Stauss became the first Redhawk to hit a home run this season. Stauss hit a solo home run down the right field line for his first career round-tripper in the top of the second inning at Arkansas State (Feb. 20).

Creed Scheduled for Game Three
Junior right-hander Cody Creed will be the third Southeast newcomer to start on the mound this season when he gets the ball in game three of this weekend's series. Creed led Jefferson College with 87 strikeouts in 71.2 innings over 13 appearances and 12 starts a year ago. He went 7-2 with a 2.76 ERA, pitched four complete games and tossed two shutouts. Creed struck out one in two relief innings during his only appearance of the season at the College of Charleston (Feb. 18).
