CEDAR FALLS, IowaMykaela Arellanes and Sarah Messex each went 3-for-4 and Southeast Missouri (2-2) pounded out 14 hits in a dominating 13-3 win over UMKC (0-2) Saturday at the Northern Iowa Dome Classic.

SEMO and UMKC kicked off day two of the tournament and the Redhawks weren't fazed at all by the early 8 a.m. start time.

The Redhawks quickly jumped out to a 5-0 lead in a big first inning.

Arellanes led off with a single and went to second on a base hit by Parker Bandy. Rachel Anderson followed with a two-RBI triple to left center. Abby Tillotson reached on a throwing error after that and Anderson touched home. Run-scoring singles by Messex and Riley Hayes polished off the early outburst as all nine hitters came to the plate.

Randi Dae Conway touched home on a two-out triple by Arellanes in the fourth. And, Messex knocked in a run on a double after Anderson scored in the fifth.

Eight of SEMO's starters had a hit. The Redhawks overpowered the Kangaroos with five extra base hits, including three doubles and two triples. Anderson joined SEMO's top-10 career leaders after collecting the ninth triple of her career.
