PEORIA, Ill. – Southeast Missouri (0-2) came up short in a 85-79 loss to Bradley (1-0) Saturday night at the Renaissance Coliseum.
Sophomore 
Tesia Thompson led SEMO with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds. It was Thompson's third career double-double.
 
Thompson, who hails from Memphis, Tennessee, recorded her 24th career double-digit game, fifth 20-plus point game and seventh eight-plus rebound effort.  
 
Adrianna Murphy joined Thompson with double figures in the scoring column. Murphy followed with 20 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals.
SEMO tied the game at 33-33 on the opening possession of the second half, only to have BU answer with a 9-0 run.  
The Braves later extended their lead to as many as 11 points nearing the midway point of the third, before the Redhawks got back into the contest and cut the deficit to one (58-57) heading to the fourth quarter. 
 
SEMO then briefly took the lead in the opening moments of the fourth period and trailed 76-75 closing in on three minutes to play.  
 
The Redhawks fell behind again, but kept battling and pulled to within three (80-77) on an 
Adrianna Murphy basket. BU, however answered and didn't look back.
 
The Braves got stops on the next three SEMO possessions, limiting the Redhawks to one basket with six seconds to play.
Thompson shot 11-of-22 from the field and 9-of-12 at the free throw line. She pulled down 10 of the Redhawks 22 offensive rebounds, dished out two assists, added a block and had four steals in 37 minutes.
Murphy made 8-of-16 field goals and 3-of-6 three-pointers increasing her career point total to 493.
SEMO tallied 15 steals for the night.
Lasha Petree topped BU with 24 points off the bench. Nyjah White also contributed 20 points and Gabi Haack scored 19.
The Braves outscored the Redhawks by a +12 margin at the free throw line (24-12) and shot 52.8 percent (28-of-53) from the field.
SEMO visits longtime rival Southern Illinois on Nov. 14.
