Quick Kicks
Southeast Missouri women's soccer (4-5, 1-1) continues its five-game road stretch this weekend with a pair of games. SEMO takes on Morehead State (1-7, 0-2) Friday evening at 5 p.m., CT. The weekend will conclude with a noon, CT, kickoff at Eastern Kentucky (4-3-2, 1-0-1) Sunday.

Morehead State
Friday's game will be the 22nd meeting between Southeast Missouri and Morehead State. SEMO leads the all-time series with the Eagles, 11-6-4. On the road, the Redhawks are 4-3-2. Southeast has gone 3-1-1 in the last five meetings. The last time SEMO was in Morehead, the teams played to a 2-2 draw. The time before in 2013, Morehead put up five goals en route to a 5-2 win over SEMO. Southeast's last win in Morehead was Sept. 28, 2007.
Eastern Kentucky
Southeast and Eastern Kentucky will meet for the 13th time Sunday. The Redhawks hold a firm lead in the all-time series, 8-3-1. In Richmond, SEMO is 3-1-1 against the Colonels. Last season in Cape, Southeast fell in overtime, 2-1. The Redhawks are 3-1-1 in the last five meetings. The last meeting in Richmond was moved to Lexington in 2015. Southeast was victorious 1-0 in overtime.
Scouting the Opponents
Morehead State
The Eagles started the season 0-4 before knocking off Chattanooga on Sept. 3. Since then, Morehead has lost three matches including dropping its first two OVC matches last weekend, both in overtime. Murray State netted the game-winner in the 98th minute on Friday to win 1-0. On Sunday, Cara Maher scored the tying goal in the 89th minute to force overtime tied at 2-2. Eastern Kentucky scored in the 96th minute to secure the 3-2 win.
Maher has scored two of Morehead's seven goals this season while adding an assist.
Eastern Kentucky
Eastern Kentucky enters with a 4-3-2 record on the season and a 1-0-1 conference clip. The Colonels played three times last week, defeating East Tennessee State 3-1 on Tuesday to wrap up non-conference play. EKU tied Austin Peay on Friday then downed Morehead on the road in overtime.
Emmi Carroll, this week's OVC Offensive Player of the Week, leads EKU with four goals this season while Jordan Foster leads the team with eight points (3 G, 2 A). Foster's 42 shots leads the OVC while her 4.67 shots per game is second. Defender Haley Kemper was voted this week's conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Let's Recap
The Redhawks split a pair of matches to open OVC play last weekend. The Redhawks hosted Tennessee Tech in the opener which went into overtime, scoreless. Freshman
Lexi Grote netted the golden goal three minutes into overtime to lift the Redhawks to a 1-0 victory and a 1-0 start in conference play. Southeast took to the road Sunday at UT Martin. The Redhawks out-played the Skyhawks offensively but couldn't find the back of the net. UTM netted the game-winner in the 80th minute to down the Redhawks, 1-0.
Looking Ahead
The month of September will come to a close next week with a match at Murray State. The game will take place Thursday in Murray, Kentucky with kickoff slated for 3 p.m. against the Racers. Southeast will be back in action Oct. 6 at Austin Peay to close the road stint before coming home Oct. 8 to host Belmont.

Assistant Coach
Adam Kleman spent two seasons at Eastern Kentucky as the graduate assistant coach in 2012 and 2013. Kleman earned his Masters Degree from EKU in 2013 in Sports Administration.
A Hundred Home Wins
The Sept. 15 overtime win over Tennessee Tech recorded the 100th win at Houck Field for Southeast Missouri soccer. Houck has been the home of the Redhawks since the inaugural season in 1999. SEMO is 100-40-21 at home in its history.
