The Southeast Missouri track & field teams will have five student-athletes continue their season this weekend at the NCAA DI Outdoor West Prelims hosted by the University of Texas on May 25-27.

Representing the Redhawk women will be Miya Dorsey and Kayla Gutierrez.

Dorsey will run in the 400m hurdles after clocking a time of 1:00.25 at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships to close out the season with a gold medal and rank 48th in the NCAA West Region.

Earlier in the year at the Memphis Invitational, Gutierrez had a toss of 188' 6" (57.45m) in the hammer throw to rank 46th in the region.

Entry's in the men's competition will include Southeast's Zach Gordon, Christian Locke and Brannon Wright.

Both Gordon and Wright will run in the 200m dash after setting times of 20.70 and 20.96, respectively, at the OVC Outdoor Championships. The men took first and second in the event while both also set personal-best times in the process. Gordon will enter the race ranking 24th in the region while Wright is 44th.

Locke also set his season best mark the championship event, capturing pole vault gold at a best height 16' 10.75" (5.15m). His height ranks him 35th in the west.

Looking Ahead
If any of the five Redhawk competitors finish in the top-12 of their respective events, that individual will advance to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 7-10.
