NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri (25-23, 13-13) dropped a, 6-5, heartbreaker to Belmont (25-25, 16-13) in the 12th inning after a four-run comeback in the final two innings of regulation.

Southeast collected 10 hits on the day and was led by
Chris Caffrey who tallied three base knocks.
Danny Wright added two hits of his own for his 17th multi-hit game of the season. Holst reached base four times, posting one hit and three walks in the contest.

Clay Chandler registered just three innings on the day, giving up five runs on eight hits with two walks.
Joey Burris pitched an inning and two-thirds in relief, allowing only one hit while striking out two and walking one.
Daniel Bergtholdt got the last out in the fifth and walked the leadoff hitter in the sixth before giving way to
Jared Waldhoff, who managed to get the next three batters out on just 13 pitches.
Matthew Wade took the mound for the seventh and eighth, giving up only one hit and striking out one in the process.
Ryan Losman threw three innings, allowing only one hit and a walk while striking out one.
Carlos Vega came in for the final two-thirds of an inning and gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning.

Dylan King gave the Bruins five innings of one run baseball on only three hits. He walked three and struck out eight on 99 pitches. Kyle Klotz pitched the sixth inning giving up only one hit. Brennan Washington took over in the seventh after a leadoff walk and three straight balls to the second hitter of the inning. Â Dom Veltri secured his second win of the season after taking the mound for four and two-thirds inning. He gave up four hits and walked five while adding a strikeout to his line.

Belmont got on the board first in the bottom half of the first as the Bruins had their first three batters reach in the game. Rafael Bournigal led off with a walk for the second consecutive game. Chas Hadden and Nick Egli followed with back-to-back singles to score Bournigal.
Brian Lees ran down a wild pitch from Chandler to take Hadden out at the plate to end the threat and limit the Bruins to one run.

The Redhawks would get the run back in the top of the second.
Chris Caffrey and
Danny Wright led off the inning with back-to-back base knocks.
Connor Basler grounded into a fielder's choice to move Caffrey over to third before deliberately getting caught in a run down and allowing Caffrey to steal home to tie the game.

The Bruins bats went off in the bottom of the third to the tune of six consecutive hits with one out in the inning. Egli and Matt Cogen each singled to begin the Bruins threat. Hunter Holland followed with an RBI single to drive in Egli. Kyle Conger then loaded the bases with a hit to center. Cogen reached home on a wild pitch to give the Bruins a 3-1 lead before whBen Kocher added two more runs on a double to left, narrowly missing a homerun.

SEMO cut into BU's lead in the top of the eighth, scoring two runs in the frame. Lees singled to second to open the inning.
Tristen Gagan came up and drilled a two-run blast over the right field wall to bring it to 5-3. It was Gagan's 10th of the year, which leads the team.

Southeast would tie the game in the top of the ninth with a lot of help from the seniors. Holst led off with a walk, advancing to third on a
Chris Osborne single and sac bunt from Lees. Gagan grounded out deep in the hole at short, scoring Holst and cutting the lead to 5-4. Caffrey then followed with a single through the left side to drive in Osborne, tying the game at five a piece.

Belmont walked off with the win in the 12th inning, taking the game 6-5. After a leadoff double for Cogen, BU loaded the bases and Clay Payne would pick up his first hit of the day to drive in Cogen for the win.
The Bruins ended the day with 13 hits. They had multi-hit games from five different players. All but one starter had at least one hit during the game.

Southeast will take on Belmont tomorrow in the rubber game at 1 p.m.
