
Track & Field Closes Out Memphis Invite

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri wrapped up their weekend at the Memphis Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Dylan Rush and Christian Locke tied for sixth in pole vault with a height of 15' 3.5" (4.66m). Nick South followed in eighth at a height of 14' 9.5" (4.51m). Sierra Maddox posted a top height of 11' 6.25" (3.51m) on the women's end.
Logan Blomquist took fifth in shot put with a top toss of 53' 3.75" (16.25m) while Stephen Zagurski placed ninth (48' 8.25"; 14.84m). Blomquist also finished in fifth during discus with a throw of 157' 11" (48.13m) while Zagurski followed in seventh (157' 3"; 47.93m).
On the women's end, Kayla Gutierrez placed third in shot put with a season best toss of 47' 4.25" (14.43m). McKenna Baker took sixth in the event with a personal best mark of 43' 7.75" (13.30m). Gutierrez also had a top throw of 151' 8" (46.23m) in discus to again finish in third. Jessenia Ellis placed eighth (138' 2"; 42.12m) in the event while Baker had a mark of 94' 10" (28.91m).
In the 100m, Zach Gordon ran a personal best time of 10.48 seconds
Rachel White and Leslie Brooks clocked times of 15.91 and 16.69, respectively, in the 100m hurdles. Brooks also appeared in triple jump, leaping 34' 7" (10.54m). Tre Curry had the best Redhawk jump on the men's side at 45' 1" (13.74m) while Abayomi Akinmoladun reached 43' 4.25" (13.21m).
South made his second appearance of the day in the 110m hurdles, finishing in fourth (15.02) while Ty Crowden took seventh (16.59).
In the 400m, Georgia Tomlinson took fifth at 58.02 seconds. On the men's end of the running, Jarred Pasley finished in third (48.33) while Brannon Wright took ninth (48.94).
Megan Parks took second in the 800m with a time of 2:17.10. Other runners in the event included Danielle Mohrmann (2:26.92), Natalie Kopplin (2:31.43) and Bella Bowers (2:34.90).
In the men's 800m, Griffin Bailey had the top finish for Southeast in seventh at 1:56.99. Other clocking times were Kameron Long (1:59.57), Nicholas Yaeger (2:01.34), Curtis Reed (2:01.86), James Kosbar (2:02.74), Nathan Cook (2:03.45), Hunter Darnell (2:07.96) and Andrew Whitener (2:10.46).
Miya Dorsey placed eighth in the 400m hurdles, clocking a time of 1:05.12. White made her second appearance of the day in the running, finishing at 1:11.75. Crowden returned to run in the men's portion of the event, finishing with a time of 1:00.05.
Andrea George took fifth in the 3000m steeple with a time of 12:43.33 while Tyler Beaman finished at 9:51.25 in seventh for the men.
Closing out the meet in the 4x400m relays, SEMO's men team took second at 3:14.41. The women's squad finished in ninth at 4:13.54.
The Redhawks will return to action next weekend in two separate meets. Southeast will compete at Indiana University on May 5 and the University of Tennessee on May 6. The following weekend, May 11-13, will be the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.
