Redhawks Head to UMKC Tournament
Southeast Missouri (8-2) joins UMKC, Saint Louis and Missouri State at the "We Back Pat" Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri this weekend.

Race to 50
Mark Redburn is seven wins away from reaching 50 at Southeast Missouri. Redburn, who is off to his best start in three years as the Redhawks head coach, is 43-62 overall.

Winning Streak
Southeast carries a five-game winning streak to the UMKC Tournament this weekend. The Redhawks, after dropping their first two games at the Lion Classic II in Hammond, Louisiana, bounced back to win their final three contests. Southeast pitched its first shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory over host Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 18) and won back-to-back one-run games against Buffalo (7-6 in 8 innings, Feb. 19) and Alcorn State (3-2, Feb. 19). The Redhawks then swept Alcorn State in a doubleheader on Feb. 25. The last time Southeast won five games in a row was in 2015 (Apr. 3-8).

Hitting .500
Freshmen Rachel Anderson and Addison Barnouski are each hitting .500 or better this season. Barnouski is currently Southeast's top hitter with a .524 batting average in eight games and six starts. She has 11 hits, six runs scored, two doubles and a home run. Anderson is hitting .500 with 15 hits, 10 runs scored, two doubles, four triples, two homers and 10 RBIs in 10 starts.

Mighty Offensive
Four others are hitting .375 or better behind Addison Barnouski and Rachel Anderson. Brooke Rheinecker (.467), Parker Bandy (.455), Ashley Ellis (.406) and Mykaela Arellanes (.375) form that group. As a team, Southeast is hitting .370 through its first 10 games.

Krumrey Leads Pitching Staff
Madeline Krumrey is 4-1 with a 1.38 ERA through six appearances and five starts. Krumrey pitched two complete game shutouts and leads the team with 16 strikeouts in 26 innings.

Madeline Krumrey  leads Southeast with 16 strikeouts this young season. Krumrey is closing in on 200 strikeouts for her career. She currently stands four away from that milestone with 196.

Redhawks See Double
The Redhawks registered double-digit hits five times in their first 10 games this year. Southeast collected a season-best 18 hits and 16 RBIs in its win over Jarvis Christian College (Feb. 11). The Redhawks had double-digit hits only nine times in 49 games last season.

Keep it Going
At 8-2, Southeast is off to its best start since 1996. The Redhawks went undefeated in their first 32 games of that season and finished the year with an overall record of 39-9 and 22-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Southeast won the OVC regular-season and tournament titles that season.

Road Warriors
Southeast plays its first 29 games outside of Cape Girardeau. The Redhawks have just 13 home games this season, all in April. Southeast hosts Eastern Illinois on its home-opener on Apr. 1.
