Spring Break
The Redhawks close out a lengthy road trip at this weekend's Rock Chalk Challenge. Southeast departed Cape Girardeau on Mar. 8 for the Leon Smith Classic in Oxford, Alabama. The Redhawks served as the host of the 11-team event which included 25 games over a four-day span. After that, Southeast headed to Georgia to face Georgia Tech (Mar. 14) and Kennesaw State (Mar. 15) in midweek action. The Redhawks then travelled to Lawrence for their five matchups in the Rock Chalk Challenge. Southeast is currently 4-2 during the long road stretch.
Fourteen Wins
Southeast picked up its 14th win of the season when it beat ACC member Georgia Tech, 6-1, on Mar. 14. The Redhawks are just two victories away from reaching their entire win total from last season (16-33). Southeast didn't get its 14th win until Apr. 29 a year ago.
50 in Sight
Mark Redburn is just one win away from reaching 50 in his career as Southeast's head coach. Redburn is off to his best start at the helm. He holds a 49-66 record as the Redhawks skipper. Redburn has been part of three other milestone wins during his time at Southeast. He led the Redhawks to their 1,000th victory in program history on Mar. 26, 2016 (9-0, vs. Tennessee State), picked up his 100th career NCAA Division I win with a 4-3 victory over Southern Illinois on Apr. 8, 2015, and won the 200th game of his head coaching career when the Redhawks beat Austin Peay, 7-4, on Apr. 30, 2016.
