Race to 50
Mark Redburn is nine wins away from reaching 50 at Southeast Missouri. Redburn, who is off to his best start in three years as the Redhawks head coach, is 41-62 overall.

Winning Streak
Southeast carries a three-game winning streak to Mississippi this weekend. The Redhawks, after dropping their first two games at the Lion Classic II in Hammond, Louisiana, bounced back to win their final three contests. Southeast pitched its first shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory over host Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 18) and won back-to-back one-run games against Buffalo (7-6 in 8 innings, Feb. 19) and Alcorn State (3-2, Feb. 19). It is the Redhawks second three-game winning streak through the first two weeks of the 2017 season.

Anderson Plays Strong
Freshman outfielder Rachel Anderson had another big weekend, this time hitting .400 with three runs scored, six hits, a home run and three stolen bases at the Lion Classic II (Feb. 17-19). Anderson boasted a .600 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage. She launched her team-high second home run of the season in Southeast's first game of the tournament vs. Middle Tennessee (Feb. 17). Anderson leads the Redhawks with a .522 batting average, 1.043 slugging percentage, 12 hits, two triples, two home runs, eight RBIs, a .577 on-base percentage and four stolen bases through eight starts.

Krumrey Leads Pitching Staff
Madeline Krumrey posted a 2-1 record and 1.59 ERA in three starts at the Lion Classic II. Krumrey recorded nine strikeouts in 17 innings. She pitched a complete game shutout in a 2-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 18). Krumrey then turned around to beat Alcorn State (Feb. 19) when she struck out three in five innings. She enters the weekend at 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA in five appearances and four starts this season.

Krumrey Starts With "K"
Madeline Krumrey leads Southeast with 12 strikeouts this young season. Krumrey is closing in on 200 strikeouts for her career. She currently stands eight away from that milestone with 192.

Newcomers Making Impact
Southeast's top five hitters are all newcomers through the first two weeks of the 2017 campaign. Of that group, three players are freshmen in Rachel Anderson, Addison Barnouski and Ashley Ellis. Each of the Redhawks top five offensive threats are hitting .360 or better with Anderson (.522), Barnouski (.500), Parker Bandy (.476), Ashley Ellis (.360) and Mykaela Arellanes (.360) paving the way. Newcomer Alexis Estes is also making an impact pitching wise. Estes is 2-0 with a team-best 1.69 ERA in five games and two starts.

Redhawks See Double
The Redhawks registered double-digit hits four times in their first eight games this year. Southeast collected a season-best 18 hits and 16 RBIs in its win over Jarvis Christian College (Feb. 11). The Redhawks had double-digit hits only nine times in 49 games last season.

Keep it Going
At 6-2, Southeast is off to its best start since 1996. The Redhawks went undefeated in their first 32 games of that season and finished the year with an overall record of 39-9 and 22-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Southeast won the OVC regular-season and tournament titles that season.

Road Warriors
Southeast plays its first 29 games outside of Cape Girardeau. The Redhawks have just 13 home games this season, all in April. Southeast hosts Eastern Illinois on its home-opener on Apr. 1.

On Deck
The Redhawks travel to Kansas City, Missouri for the All-Missouri Cancer Classic Mar. 4-5. Southeast, UMKC, Missouri State and Saint Louis are all part of the event.
