Scouting the Opponent
The Gamecocks come into Sunday's game with a 6-9-2 record and a 3-6 conference clip. Jacksonville State fell to Eastern Kentucky and squeaked out a win against Morehead State last weekend. Goals were scored by sophomore Emma Meadows and senior Kayla Thompson. Danielle Monroe leads the team in goals (7), points (15), and shots (37) this season. Kayla Thompson has four goals and is the assist leader with three. Meadows and Clare Peterson each have two goals, while Cheyenne Carden has one.

The Redhawks offense got a big lift last week, scoring a total of seven goals.
Esmie Gonzales notched four goals raising her total to six this season. Against Eastern Illinois, Gonzales scored the first two goals, while
Shelby Beussink tallied her second goal of the season to give the Redhawks a 3-0 win. SEMO scored four second half goals against SIUE two days later. Gonzales scored the first two goals and put the Redhawks ahead, 2-1, in the 75
th minute against the Cougars. Hannah Comprenole added her first career goal and
Lauren Kaempfe also scored.Â

The eight-team Ohio Valley Conference Tournament begins next week. Final seeding for the tournament will take place after Sunday's games.

OVC Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore
Esmie Gonzales was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Gonzales won the award for the second time in her career. She scored four goals to lead SEMO to a pair of wins last week. Gonzales netted two goals in each match. She finished the weekend with eight shots, including six on goal.

United Soccer Coaches Academic Award
The United Soccer Coaches announced its annual Team Academic Awards. Southeast Missouri claimed its eighth-straight yearly award for the 2016-17 academic year. The Redhawks put together a 3.64 team GPA, which tied for 17th in the country.Â
