Series Histories
Eastern Illinois
Southeast trails EIU in the all-time series, 8-10-3 and are 2-7 all-time in Charleston; however, Southeast has won five of the last six meetings with the Panthers, dating back to 2010 with all five victories coming as shutouts. Last season, Southeast defeated EIU 5-0 in Cape.
SIUE
All-time, Southeast holds a 6-2-1 record over SIUE dating back to 2004. Since the Cougars became full members of the OVC in 2012, Southeast has gone 2-1-1 against them. In Edwardsville, SEMO is 2-1 in its history. Last season, the teams played to a scoreless draw in Cape. The last time Southeast played in Edwardsville, the Redhawks defeated SIUE 2-1 to clinch a share of the 2014 OVC title.

Scouting the Opponents
Eastern Illinois
EIU finished non-conference play with a 3-5 record. The Panthers opened the season 0-3 before earning a 2-1 win over Chicago State. Most recently, the Panthers have defeated Northern Iowa (3-0) and Marian University (1-0), both at home. EIU is 2-2 this season on their home field. EIU has scored seven total goals this season, all by different players. Emma Scaro has a goal and two assists for a team-best four points.
SIUE
The Cougars finished non-conference play with a 2-4-2 record. Their lone wins came over Chicago State (6-1) and Illinois-Chicago (3-1). SIUE drew a scoreless tie at Kansas State as well as tied Missouri State, 1-1. At home this season, SIUE is 2-0-1. Avery Anderson and Caroline Hoefert have each scored a team-leading four goals this season. In all, SIUE has scored 14 goals and given up 16 this season. SIUE hosts UT Martin on Friday to open OVC play.

What's Ahead
The Redhawks will return to Houck Stadium for a pair of OVC matches next weekend. On Friday, Sept. 30, Southeast hosts defending OVC champions Murray State at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 2, the Austin Peay Govs come to town. SEMO and Austin Peay kick off at 2 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live to the OVC Digital Network.

Let's Recap
The Redhawks finished non-conference play last week with a pair of tough road losses, their first losses of the season. SEMO fell to SEC opponent Kentucky by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.
Esmeralda Gonzales and
Angie Mann each scored a goal in the game. Wednesday's loss to Kentucky ended Southeast's seven-match unbeaten streak. Southeast then fell to in-state foe Missouri State on Sunday, 1-0. It was only the second time the Redhawks were shutout this season.

Natasha Minor is climbing the offensive national rankings. Minor's three game-winning goals ranks 13th, six goals rank 31st, and 14 total points ranks 46th.
Kindra Lierz's five shutouts ranks tied for ninth in the country.
