Southeast Missouri trails in the all-time series to Missouri State, 2-5. The Redhawks have not beaten the Bears since Sept. 14, 2003, 2-1. Southeast has lost three-straight meetings to the bears, two of which were in Cape, and all three by a score of 1-0. In Springfield, Southeast is 1-2. The last meeting between the two teams was Aug. 29, 2008.

Scouting the Opponent
Missouri State enters Sunday's match with a 2-4-2 record on the season. At home, the Bears are 2-1-1. MSU is currently riding a three-match home unbeaten streak, going 2-0-1 with wins over Omaha Nebraska and Central Arkansas. Most recently, Missouri State tied SIUE, 1-1. This season, Missouri State is being out-scored 6-11, averaging 1.37 goals against. Molly Brewer and Ashley Coonfield each have two goals to lead the team.

What's Ahead
The Redhawks soccer team will set it sights on Ohio Valley Conference play beginning next weekend. OVC play begins on the road at Eastern Illinois on Friday at 3 p.m. Southeast will then head to OVC rival SIUE on Sunday. The Redhawks and Cougars are set to begin at 2 p.m. from Edwardsville, Illinois.

Let's Recap
The Redhawks' seven-match unbeaten start to the 2016 season ended Wednesday with a 3-2 loss to the University of Kentucky. Southeast trailed 1-0 at halftime but came out and played toe-to-toe with the Wildcats in the second half.
Esmeralda Gonzales netted her second goal of her rookie season while
Angie Mann scored her first of the season.
Jasmin Hilliard contributed her second assist of the season on Mann's goal.
Paige Blankenheim and Gonzales led the Redhawks with three shots each in the match. The three goals allowed to the Wildcats were the first given up to a Division I opponent of the season.

adidas® OVC Offensive Player of the Week
Natasha Minor was named the adidas® OVC Offensive Player of the Week this week. Minor scored four goals in two matches this week including earning her first hat trick on Wednesday. Minor scored the go-ahead goal in the sixth minute on a penalty kick then netted the game winner in the 14th minute. She fired off a career-high eight shots in the match. It was Minor who scored the game winner on a header from a corner kick in Sunday's 1-0 shutout of Florida Atlantic. Minor played 137 minutes of the Redhawks' 180 this week. It's the second weekly honor of her four-year career.

The Redhawk defense is having a strong showing among national statistical rankings. SEMO's 0.600 goals against average ranks 40th, save percentage (.857) ranks 37th, and shutout percentage (.625) ranks 24th. All three marks ranks first in the OVC. Individually,
Natasha Minor is climbing the offensive national rankings. Minor's three game-winning goals ranks seventh, six goals rank 20th, and 14 total points ranks 27th.
Kindra Lierz's five shutouts ranks tied for fourth in the country while her 750:00 goalie minutes played ranks 28th.
