Quick Kicks
Southeast Missouri State women's soccer (5-0-1) wraps up its two-game homestand on Sunday when the Redhawks play host to Florida Atlantic University (3-3-1). The match will begin at 1 p.m. from Houck Field.
 
Sunday's match will feature a special presentation of the Meghan Herndon Memorial Scholarship at halftime. Herndon was a soccer student-athlete who tragically lost her life in an automobile accident in 2012. Herndon's family will be in attendance for the scholarship presentation.
 
Back by popular demand, Pokemon t-shirts will be handed out to the first 250 fans through the gate on Sunday. The shirts were originally handed out at the home opener on Aug. 21.
 
Additionally, Sunday will be Youth Soccer Day. All kids wearing their youth soccer jersey will receive free admission to the match.
 
Series History
Sunday's match will be the second meeting between Southeast Missouri and Florida Atlantic. The two teams met exactly one year ago on Sept. 11, 2015. FAU blanked Southeast 2-0 in the match that took place in West Palm Beach, Florida.

FAU enters Sunday's match with a 3-3-1 record on the season, most recently coming off a scoreless draw at home against Oakland. On the road, the Owls are 0-2 this season. FAU's three losses have come to No. 7 Florida, No. 9 North Carolina (in double overtime), and Miami. Sammy Rowland leads the Owls with three goals this season. Rowland has taken 20 shots, putting nine on goal. FAU has scored a total of seven goals this season and has surrendered eight.
 
adidas® OVC Defender of the Week
Junior Kindra Lierz was named the adidas® OVC Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this week. Lierz earned her fourth shutout of the 2016 campaign when Southeast Missouri and Evansville played to a scoreless draw on Sunday. Lierz earned five saves in the shutout, securing an unbeaten start for the Redhawks at 4-0-1. The solo shutout was Lierz's 20th of her career, a figure that ranks third on SEMO's career top-five list. Her five saves Sunday increases her career total to 170, which ranks fourth all-time.
 
What's Ahead
SEMO will play its next four matches all on the road beginning Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Kentucky followed by the non-conference finale at Missouri State on Sunday, Sept. 18. Ohio Valley Conference play begins Sept. 23 at Eastern Illinois followed by a match at OVC rival SIUE on Sept. 25.

Individually, Kindra Lierz ranks 23rd with a 0.316 goals against average, 28th with a .900 save percentage, and tied for fourth with four shutouts. Offensively, Natasha Minor ranks 20th in total points (12), 23rd in total goals (5), 25th in points per game (2.00), and 34th in goals per game (0.83).
