CHARLESTON, Ill. – Southeast Missouri (16-33, 10-17) ended its 2016 season when it split a doubleheader with Eastern Illinois (23-26, 17-8) Sunday. The Redhawks dropped game one, 6-1, and won the nightcap, 4-1.

Abby Tillotson went 2-for-4 and knocked in two runs in Southeast's victory.

Tillotson drove in
Danielle Turner and
Darby Pruett delivered a RBI-double to put Southeast ahead, 2-0, in the top of the fourt inning.

The Redhawks added another run on Tillotson's one-out single in the fifth.
Â
Harli Wheeler's two-out double to center field pushed across one more run to polish off the win in the sixth.

Madeline Krumrey (6-14) picked up the win, her first since Mar. 26. Krumrey gave up three hits and a run in four innings. She also struck out one and walked one.

Mackenzie Hoelting pitched the rest of the way, tossing three scoreless innings.
Â
Michelle Rogers (6-9) suffered the loss. Rogers went the distance scattering five hits and allowing four runs. She struck out one and walked four, as well.

Wheeler (2) and Pruett combined for Southeast's other three hits.

Kylie Bennett went 3-for-3 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs, and EIU scored six unanswered runs to upend Southeast in game one.

Turner's solo home run gave the Redhawks a 1-0 edge in the top of the second, but that was Southeast's only scoring.

EIU quickly tied the game in the bottom half of the second inning and added another two runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth to put Southeast away.

Katie Watson tripled and scored on a two-run shot by Bennett in the fourth. Bennett then homered again as part of the Panthers three-run sixth inning which increased EIU's lead to 6-1.

Jessica Wireman (17-17) nailed down her second complete game victory of the series. Wireman struck out four, walked three and allowed just one run on four hits.

Haley Thogmartin (9-10) was charged with the loss. Thogmartin gave up three runs on four hits in 3.1 innings.
Aubrey Denno pitched the final 2.2 innings, scattering seven hits and allowing three runs. Denno also struck out two.

EIU outhit Southeast, 11-4, with April Markowski, Amber Toenyes and Mady Poulter adding two hits apiece.

Turner led the Redhawks with two hits.

Southeast missed this year's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament which is set for May 11-14 in Oxford, Alabama. Jacksonville State, EIU, Eastern Kentucky, SIU Edwardsville, UT Martin, Tennessee Tech, Morehead State and Murray State are the eight teams headed to the event.
