Against the SEC
Southeast is 11-45 all-time against Southeastern Conference schools. The Redhawks are 1-3 all-time vs. Arkansas, 2-0 against Kentucky, 2-7 vs. Ole Miss, 1-5 against Mississippi State, 5-29 vs. Missouri and 0-1 against Texas A&M. Southeast plays both Arkansas and Missouri at home this month.

We Meet Again
The Redhawks and Razorbacks meet for the second-straight year in 2016. These teams split a doubleheader in Fayetteville, Arkansas last season. Southeast dropped game one, 13-5, before rallying in extra innings to win the nightcap, 4-3. Savannah Carpenter doubled and Meaghan Touchette delivered a sacrifice fly to push across two runs in the top of the eighth inning, giving the Redhawks their first victory over an SEC opponent since 2007.

Back at Home
Wednesday's twin bill against Arkansas begins a six-game homestand for Southeast.  The Redhawks also host Ohio Valley Conference co-leader Jacksonville State (Apr. 9) and Tennessee Tech (Apr. 10) in doubleheaders this week. It is the longest homestand Southeast has this season. The Redhawks are currently 5-2 at the Southeast Softball Complex.

Redhawks Drop First OVC Series
The Redhawks dropped their first Ohio Valley Conference series of the season when they were swept in three games at SIU Edwardsville (Apr. 2-3). Southeast lost those games by a combined four runs. It was the fourth-straight year SIUE posted a three-game sweep of the Redhawks.

Hayes Breaks Through
Catcher Riley Hayes hit a team-high .500 (4-for-8) with two runs scored, three doubles, a home run and three RBIs in Southeast's series at SIU Edwardsville (Apr. 2-3). Hayes hit safely in all three of those contests. She hit her first home run of the season in the top of the fifth inning to give the Redhawks a 3-0 lead during Sunday's finale. Hayes, who owns a four-game hitting streak, increased her batting average from .231 to .267 over Southeast's last three games.

Now Appearing
Pitcher Madeline Krumrey made her 50th career appearance inside the circle at SIU Edwardsville on Apr. 3. Krumrey went 0-2 with one complete game and five strikeouts in 10.1 innings against the Cougars. She allowed just one walk, as well. Krumrey leads Southeast with 18 appearances and 14 starts in 2016.

Wernig Makes Impact
Right fielder Claire Wernig leads Southeast with a .368 batting average through 28 starts this season. Wernig has a team-high 35 hits and 21 runs scored to go along with seven doubles and seven RBI as one of two Redhawks hitting over .300. She also owns a team-best 12 multiple-hit games and has started all 28 contests. Wernig hit .286 in 41 games and 27 starts a year ago. She has led Southeast in hitting four-straight weeks.
