Lengthy Road Stretch
The Redhawks are in the middle of a nine-game road trip. Beginning this weekend, Southeast plays seven-straight Ohio Valley Conference matchups away from home. The Redhawks travel to UT Martin (Apr. 16-17), Eastern Kentucky (Apr. 23) and Morehead State (Apr. 24). UTM is tied for fifth in the OVC standings, while EKU is second and MSU is third. All three of those teams have 20 or more wins this year.

Series History
Southeast holds a 62-42 lead in its all-time series against UT Martin. The Redhawks are searching for their first series win against the Skyhawks since 2007. UTM has clinched series wins in eight-straight seasons and has won 20 of 24 games over Southeast during that span.

April Update
The Redhawks are currently 1-10 overall and 1-6 in Ohio Valley Conference play this month. Southeast began April on a season-long eight-game losing streak, but ended that stretch with a 5-2 win over Tennessee Tech (Apr. 10). The Redhawks started conference play with a 5-2 mark, but has dropped six of seven league contests since then.

Last Time Out
Southeast was swept in a doubleheader for the fifth time this season when it fell, 12-7, 6-2, at Saint Louis Wednesday. A six-run sixth inning propelled SLU to its game one victory. After the Redhawks tied the game at 2-2, SLU plated three runs in a decisive fifth inning en route to its 6-2 win in the nightcap. Southeast went 0-3 against the Billikens this year.

Turning it Up
Outfielder Danielle Turner went 4-for-7 with three runs scored, two home runs, a double and four RBIs in Southeast's doubleheader at Saint Louis (Apr. 13). Turner became the first Redhawk to hit two home runs in a game this season when she hit a three-run bomb in the top of the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth. Teammate Savannah Carpenter was the last Southeast player to hit two home runs in a game, accomplishing the feat vs. Eastern Illinois on Apr. 25, 2015. Turner is hitting .284 and ranks second on the team with six home runs through 33 starts this season.

Krack Among Home Run Leaders
Haylee Krack's team-high seventh home run in the fifth inning of game one at Saint Louis (Apr. 13) placed her fifth all-time in career home runs at Southeast. Krack led the Redhawks with 10 home runs in 2014 before taking over that spot again this year. She has 17 round-trippers in her career. Michelle Summers (2006-08) owns the school record with 48 homers.

Starting Streak
Claire Wernig has started 42-consecutive games, currently the longest of any active player. Wernig and shortstop Sarah Messex are the only two Redhawks who started every game in 2016. Wernig leads Southeast in batting average (.325), at-bats (125), hits (40), runs (25) and multiple-hit contests (12). She also held a career-long 12- game hitting streak from Mar. 20-Apr. 9, the first double-digit game hitting streak by a Redhawk since 2012 (Taylor Cowan).

More on Wernig
Claire Wernig is in her fifth-straight week as Southeast's top hitter. Wernig is the only Redhawk hitting over .300 (.325) entering this weekend. She hit .286 in 41 games and 27 starts a year ago.

Three Again
The Redhawks hit at least three home runs in a game for the third time this season and second this month. Danielle Turner hit two homers and Haylee Krack added one during game one of Southeast's doubleheader at Saint Louis (Apr. 13). The Redhawks also hit three home runs vs. Arkansas (Apr. 6) and had a season-high four at Jackson State (Mar. 15). Southeast is tied for fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference with 25 home runs this season.
