Midweek Games
Southeast is 2-5 in midweek games this season. The Redhawks have one series win in midweek play with a doubleheader sweep at Jackson State (Mar. 15). Southeast is looking to snap a five-game losing streak in midweek action after losing a doubleheader at Southeastern Louisiana (Mar. 16), a single game at Southern Illinois (Mar. 22) and a home doubleheader against Arkansas (Apr. 6).

Lengthy Road Stretch
The Redhawks are on the road for their next nine games and will not play at home for two weeks. After its trip to Saint Louis Wednesday, Southeast returns to Ohio Valley Conference play when it heads to UT Martin for a three-game series this weekend. The Redhawks then play doubleheaders at Eastern Kentucky (Apr. 23) and Morehead State (Apr. 24) a week later.

Southeast Ends Losing Skid
Southeast snapped a season-long eight-game losing streak and picked up its first win in April with a 5-2 victory over Tennessee Tech (Apr. 10). It was the Redhawks first win since Mar. 26. Southeast dropped five contests during its season-long six-game homestand last week.

Series History
The Redhawks are 70-27 all-time against in-state rival Saint Louis. Southeast and SLU met once already this season at the Cancer Awareness Tournament in St. Louis. The Billikens won that game, 4-3, on Mar. 6. SLU beat Southeast in six of the last eight meetings between these teams.

One-Run Games
Five of Southeast's last nine games were decided by one run and the Redhawks came up on the short end in all of those contests. Southeast has played a total of 13 one-run games this season and owns a record of 3-10 in those matchups. The Redhawks have lost each of their last seven games decided by a run.

Wernig's Hitting Streak Ends at 12 Games
Claire Wernig's career-long 12-game hitting streak ended when she went 0-for-4 in game two of Southeast's doubleheader against Jacksonville State (Apr. 9). Wernig, the first Redhawk to have a double-digit game hitting streak since 2012 (Taylor Cowan), had multiple hits a total of six times during that stretch.

More on Wernig
Claire Wernig enters her fifth-straight week as Southeast's top hitter. Wernig is hitting .333 through 34 starts this season. She has a team-high 39 hits and 24 runs scored to go along with seven doubles, one home run and eight RBIs. Wernig also leads the Redhawks with 12 multiple-hit games. Wernig hit .286 in 41 games and 27 starts a year ago.

Last Time vs. Saint Louis
Mackenzie Peter delivered a game-winning single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Saint Louis a 4-3 victory over Southeast at the Cancer Awareness Tournament on Mar. 6. Brittany Durant reached on a one-out error and Alex Nickle walked on four pitches before Peter gave the Billikens the walk-off win after falling behind 0-2 in the count. The Redhawks held a 3-1 lead until SLU tied things up in the bottom of the fifth.
