CARBONDALE, Ill. – Savannah Fisher delivered a walk-off double with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Southern Illinois (17-8) a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Southeast Missouri (8-13) Tuesday afternoon.

Merri Anne Patterson reached on a four-pitch walk and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jessa Thomas. Behind 1-2 in the count, Fisher got her game-winning hit off
Haley Thogmartin and sent SIU to its fifth-straight victory.

Southeast led 2-0 after four-and-a-half innings, scoring once in the first and fourth frames.

Sarah Messex drew a walk with the bases loaded to score
Danielle Turner in the first inning before
Harli Wheeler touched home for an unearned run when
Claire Wernig grounded out to short in the fourth.

SIU came back with one run in each of the last three innings to get by the Redhawks.

Patterson stole home for the Salukis first run in the fifth inning.

Shaye Harre then launched a solo home run to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth.

Southeast went down in order during its at-bat in the seventh and SIU carried its momentum to the bottom half of the inning.

Brianna Jones (13-3) picked up the win in relief. Jones struck out two and allowed one hit in 1.1 scoreless innings.

Thogmartin (4-6) took the loss. She gave up two run son three hits, walked one and recorded a strikeout on 1.1 innings.

Madeline Krumrey allowed a run on two hits, struck out two and walked three in five innings before giving way to Thogmartin in the sixth.

Southeast outhit SIU, 6-5, but left 11 runners on base.

Wernig went 2-for-4 with one RBI, while
Brittany Stevens,
Savannah Carpenter,
Abby Tillotson and Turner followed with one hit apiece.

Harre went 2-for-2 with a run scored, double, home run and RBI to lead SIU.

The Redhawks return home to host Belmont (Mar. 25) and Tennessee State (Mar. 26) in doubleheaders before the Eastern holiday.
