CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri baseball picked up an extra-inning 6-5 victory Sunday to complete a three-game sweep of Morehead State (12-7, 3-3 OVC) and remain a perfect 6-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play.
 
Ryan Rippee drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 10
th inning to drive in the winning run and secure the sweep of the Eagles.
 
Southeast improves to 13-8 on the season. The Redhawks last opened OVC play 6-0 in 2014.
 
Chris Caffrey finished Sunday's contest with four hits, one of which was a triple, drove in two runs, and scored a run.
 
Robert Beltran made his fifth start Sunday and pitched seven innings. Beltran gave up four runs, only two of which were earned. He struck out eight and walked three. He exited with the game tied so received a no decision in the start.
 
Justin Murphy (2-2) picked up the win in relief. Murphy pitched one and two-thirds innings of scoreless baseball and struck out four hitters.
 
An RBI single by Reid Leonard scored a run for Morehead State in the top of the first inning but Southeast got the run back in the bottom of the inning on 
Trevor Ezell's first home run of the season, tying the game at 1-1 after the first inning.
 
An RBI fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly opened a 3-1 lead for Morehead State in the third inning. An RBI single by Hunter Fain widened the lead to 4-1 in the top of the fifth inning.
 
Caffrey led off the sixth with his third hit, a triple left center. 
Dan Holst followed it up with a groundout to second, scoring Caffrey and cutting the lead in half, 4-2.
 
With two out and Redhawk runners on second and third, Caffrey's fourth hit plated the tying runs, knotting the game up at 4-4 in the seventh inning.
 
A bases-loaded passed ball scored the go-ahead run for Morehead State in the top of the ninth inning, putting the Eagles ahead 5-4 going to the bottom of the ninth inning.
 
Garrett Gandolfo drove in 
Branden Boggetto in the bottom of the ninth to retie the game at 5-5 and force the second extra-inning game of the series.
 
Murphy struck out the side in the top of the 10
th to bring the Redhawks up in the bottom of the inning. The Redhawks loaded the bases with no out in the frame. A flyout to shallow center turned into a double play when 
Daniel Costello was out at home after tagging up and trying to score. Boggetto was intentionally walked to reload the bases with two out. Rippee drew a two-out, bases-loaded, walk-off walk to drive in 
Chris Osborne and secure the 6-5 win and sweep over Morehead State.
 
Southeast finished with 13 hits, led by Caffrey's four hits and two RBI. Ezell and Boggetto each added a pair of hits in the game in the Redhawks' favor.
 
Jesus Carerra was the sole Eagle hitter with a multi-hit game going 3-for-5 with three runs scored.
 
Tyler Keele (1-1) suffered the loss. Keele, the sixth Eagle pitcher of the game, pitched two innings in relief, allowing two runs on three hits, walking four, and striking out two.
 
The Redhawks will welcome Harris-Stowe Tuesday in their first home midweek game. The Redhawks and Hornets are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
