
Men Finish Second, Women Sixth At OVC Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Southeast Missouri men's team took second and the women placed sixth at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships which ended Saturday.
Southeast's men's team registered 134 points, while the women tallied 56. Eastern Illinois won the men's title and the Tennessee State women won the crown this year.
Christopher Davis and Duncan Ross completed the men's heptathlon to open the event, finishing finishing fifth (4437) and sixth (4312), respectively.
In field events, Aaliah Herron placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 13.80m.
On the men's side, Jason Walker took seventh with a new personal record and season best 14.70m for the Redhawks.
In the triple jump, Chris Martin bounded 14.64m to take fifth.
The pole vault saw Sierra Maddox take second, nearly setting a new season best with a height of 3.60m. Haley Holton also had a strong showing, claiming fourth at 3.50m.
Christian Locke continued his impressive season, reaching a height of 5.18m to top the pole vault standings. Duncan Ross and Dylan Rush both vaulted for heights of 4.55m, with Ross earning third due to less attempts.
The men's team had a strong showing in the 400m dash, picking up 21 points in the race. Jarred Pasley led the way, claiming first in 47.86 seconds. Jordan Barber closely followed in second at 48.32 seconds, while Brandon Chunn took sixth (49.38).
Afterwards, Pasley competed again in the 200m dash, finishing in 25.92 seconds to place eighth.
Cheyanne Tunti completed the 400m dash in 56.46 seconds, earning fifth. Miya Dorsey also competed, earning a time of 57.28 in eighth-place.
Tunti made a second appearance in the 200m dash, placing seventh with a time of 25.27 seconds.
Haile Wilson won the men's 55m dash, sprinting to a time of 6.35 seconds. Martin also competed in the event, finishing eighth (7.63).
Mariam Ajiroba took seventh on her side of the 55m with a time of 7.17 seconds.
Jordan Brown ran a personal best 800m time of 1:52.58, securing second in the event. Kameron Long followed with his own personal best at 1:52.23 to take third.
The women's 800m saw Megan Parks finish sixth with a time of 2:14.35.
Marc Maton claimed the top Redhawks time in the 3000m run, placing fifth with 8:28.32.
Kaitlyn Shea ran a personal best 3000m to finish ninth, clocking a time of 10:09.06.
Brannon Wright joined Barber, Chunn and Pasley in the 4x400m relay, winning the event with a time of 3:15.74.
The women's 4x400 relay team of Dorsey, Parks, Tunti and Jovannie Spears closed out the women's events.
