Southeast Missouri women's soccer (8-6-4, 2-4-3) will bring the 2016 season to a close on Thursday when Ohio Valley Conference rival UT Martin (4-13, 1-8) comes to Cape Girardeau. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Houck Stadium.
 
The Redhawks will be celebrating the careers of seniors Kaitlin Kuznacic, Angie Mann, and Natasha Minor prior to the match.
 
Thursday's season finale will be streamed live and for free on the OVC Digital Network.
 
Series History
Southeast leads the all-time series with UT Martin, 10-6-5, and are 6-2-3 against the Skyhawks at home. The last time Southeast defeated UT Martin was at home on Sept. 30, 2011, 1-0. Last season, the Redhawks and Skyhawks played to a scoreless draw in the regular-season finale in Martin, Tennessee.
 
Scouting the Opponent
UT Martin enters Thursday's match with an overall record of 4-13 and a league record of 1-8. The Skyhawks' lone OVC win came in overtime at Jacksonville State on Oct. 9. Most recently, UTM dropped three straight home matches to Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee Tech, and Morehead State. Saphyra Coombs-James leads the team with six goals on the season while Amy McGivern has five with three assists. As a team, UT Martin has given up 44 total goals (2.59 per game).
 
Missing the OVC Tournament
This season will be the first Southeast Missouri has missed the OVC Tournament since 2009. SEMO finished in seventh place with a 2-3-3 record that year. 
 
NSCAA Team Academic Award
For the seventh-consecutive year, the Redhawks have earned NSCAA Team Academic recognition. Southeast's 3.64 team GPA ranked fifth among NCAA Division I women's soccer teams.
 
Potential Record Setting Night
A handful of Southeast single-season and career records have the potential to fall during Thursday evening's match. With two goals, senior Natasha Minor can tie the single-season goals record (13) and the career record (29). She is four points away from tying the career record of 71. She needs two shots to set a new shots attempted record and needs five shots on goal for a new record. Aside from Minor, junior Kindra Lierz is 26 minutes away from breaking the career goalkeeper minutes record of 5,233.
 
Let's Recap
The Redhawks picked up a 3-1 victory over Morehead State on Sunday to earn their second OVC win since league play began on Sept. 23. With the win, Southeast snapped a seven-match winless steak. Esmeralda Gonzales netted her fourth goal of the season to put SEMO on the board in the 31st minute. Angie Mann scored the game-winner in the 42nd minute, her second goal of the season. Morehead scores its lone goal less than a minute an a half into the second half to cut the SEMO lead in half. In the 89th minute, Natasha Minor scored her league-leading 11th goal, assisted by Paige Blankenheim. Southeast's three goals are a season-best in conference play this season.
