Hosting the Cougars
Southeast Missouri's men's and women's track & field teams will host SIU-Edwardsville for the first home meet of the season. Last season, the Redhawks visited the Cougars, besting both men's and women's teams.
Conference Leaders
Currently, the Redhawks own the top conference mark in seven events.
Ayonna Cartwright's season began with first-place finishes in both of her 60m dash appearances, setting a season-best and OVC leading time at 7.60.
Jordan Barber, Brandon Chunn, Jarred Pasley and Brannon Wright joined forces to take first at the Missouri Invitational in the 4x400m relay, posting a conference best 3:18.36.
Marc Maton owns the top times in two solo events. He leads in the mile with the time 4:09.27 and recently captured the OVC's best 3000m time at 8:18.18.
In men's field events, Christian Locke holds the top mark in pole vault (16'6.75") while Chris Martin leads in triple jump (50'11").
Kayla Gutierrez holds a commanding lead in women's weight throw with the toss of 65'6.75". The closest mark by a fellow OVC member is 58'1".
Looking Ahead
Next weekend, the Redhawks travel to South Bend, Indiana to compete in the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational. The meet will take place at the Loftus Sports Center on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6.
